HELLO Peachies!
I know, it's been awhile since we last met here but I wanted to let you know why -
our PK Challenges are new and improved for 2012!

More streamlined!
Same time each week!
New Challenge every Friday!
Inspiration from 4 first term designers + 1 Senior Designer each week!
Each week we'll challenge you with something different, but always inspiring!

Not only will there be a weekly challenge, but we're making it much easier for you to have fun when playing along!

Here are the details on our NEW PK Challenge:
  • Each new post will go live on Fridays at 12:01 EST {starting with next week on 1/20/12}
  • You will have until the following Wednesday at 11:59 pm EST to submit for that weeks' challenge
  • We'll pick a "Top Peach" for each challenge and 2 runner ups to receive a special badge you can snag right from our site when you win {no more waiting on emails!}
  • While our challenges are open for all to play along, to earn "Top Peach" you must use a Peachy Keen Stamp somewhere on your project. Prizes will be awarded based on design, theme, and challenge requirements.
  • We will still continue to offer giveaways on our Peachy Keen Connection with each new release, so there'll always be a chance to start your PKS Collection out for FREE! Just play along for a chance to win! {"like" us on Facebook for the most up-to-date details on giveaways and contests}
Today's announcement begins the fun with a Kick off  Linky Party over on the Peachy Keen Challenge Blog.  Head over there to see ALL the amazing things that our designers have created for you.  Upload and link your peachy project for a chance to be one of the top three!  Here's my inspiration for you.
 This sweet little angel was loads of fun to color, and I even took the white pleated ribbon from the kit and colored it with Copics to make it more of an ivory color to match the paper.  Everything was colored with Copic markers, and I even used the airbrush to color the heart, which is transparent.  I like that I can still see the paper through the heart. After the heart dried, I stamped the "Love" sentiment with Versamark ink and sprinkled it with Heat and Stick Powder.  A little heat from the embossing tool makes that stuff SUPER sticky and that allows my glitter to stick really well.  Heat and Stick Powder = A good thing.   ;-)  There's some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on her wings and halo, and that pretty much does it for this little sweetie.
Here I have a 6x6 layout I did in memory of my grandma (Granny).   The paper for this also comes from the Peachy Picks Kit this month, as does that wonderful kraft tag with the "Love" sentiment punched out.  The angel and sentiment are from this month's Stamp of the Month Club.

I think I'll make a trip to the local Ben Franklin Store to pick up a shadow box for this one, because I want to keep it safe.  The photo is actually a newspaper clipping from back in the day when she was honored as an employee of Bill & Bob's IGA in Marceline, MO.  So many people knew Granny from there.  She loved people, and nearly everyone who knew her called her Granny.  She touched a lot of lives, and made this world a better place, just by being in in.  Wouldn't this world be AWESOME if everyone left this life being able to say that?  Oh what a wonderful world that would be!!

Both of my projects today were created with the new Stamp of the Month Club stamps, as well as the Peachy Picks Kit Club, which are both available at Peachy Keen Stamps, and are a brand new deal this month.  Can I just have a WOW?  Oh my goodness are these EVER some amazing things to work with, and both are some of my absolute favorites EVER.  You can find all the details about joining one of both of the new clubs on the  Peachy Keen Stamps website.  Just click on the Peachy Keen Clubs link in the top left corner and sign up today!  They're AWESOME!!!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and thank you for your kind comments and condolences for my Granny's passing.  Your thoughts and prayers are most appreciated.  Sending lots of love and big old hugs right back at ya!

Can't wait to see what the DT has to show us this year. You all are fabulous and I love seeing all of your projects. I love the card and the 6x6 is awesome. My granny or "mamaw" as we called her lol, was the sweetest kindest person you could ever meet, and I sure do miss her! I know what you mean about the world having more people like our "grannies". Thanks for the wonderful post.

Wow Lorie, you are truly amazing!!!! These are both just gorgeous. I don't remember hearing of heat and stick powder before, but I'm SO looking into it. I wondered how you got the LOVE sentiment so perfectly glittery. And your layout of Granny is GORGEOUS! I love the name Ruth and I love your tribute to her leaving the world a better place. That is definitely a goal to live towards! You are still in my thoughts and prayers as well as the rest of your family. Huge Hugs- Glora
