Oh Say Can You See...

Happy Independence Day, and welcome to the Oh Say Can You See 4th of July Blog Hop sponsored by SNR Card Universe! If you came from Cindy Burgess's blog (Mrs. B's Craft Room), then you are following along in perfect order. If you just happened upon this post, then you may want to go back to SNR Card Universe, which is where this all began, and follow the links. The card I'm sharing with you on this fabulous holiday was made with the Owl Celebrations stamp set from Sweet -n Sassy Stamps, and I combined it with the Celebrate America digital stamp, also from Sweet -n Sassy. The look on this little cutie's face makes me smile. It's almost a surprised look, and with those fireworks under her feet, I'm thinking she might even look a little worried! I say this is a girl owl, because of her gorgeous eyelashes, but whoooooo knows!! I've seen some fellas with some pretty gorgeous eyelashes too.
Here's a closer look at the details on the card. I actually went outside and broke a twig off the oak tree to give Miss Owl a branch to sit on. The leaves are punched from Kiwi Kiss and Always Artichoke card stock with a Martha Stewart leaf punch, and attached with Crystal Effects. As I said in a previous post, I really like the look of this EK Success paper with the more muted version of our traditional patriotic colors. I guess it's more of a vintage look, which is a look that I LOVE!
