PKS Challenge 45 :: Just Cards :: Shape It Up!

 Good morning and happy Friday!
Are you all geared up for a fabulous weekend?
The Halls are being decked, and it's sure beginning to look a lot like
Christmas around here.  Well, all except for the snow, and with
it being almost 60 degrees today, I kinda doubt that we'll be
seeing any of the white stuff.  While the warm weather
is sure nice, it doesn't make it feel much like
Christmas, BUT making Christmas
cards sure does!

Here's the card I made for the latest Peachy Keen Challenge #45.  For this challenge, we're "Shaping It Up", meaning that cards and projects need to be shaped, and that's something other than the standard square or rectangle.  Some of my DT Sistahs have created amazing shaped cards as well, so be sure to head on over to The Peachy Keen Challenge Blog to check out their designs and find all the details about this challenge.

I chose to actually use some of the SVG files I've been collecting by making this Santa shaped card.  The SVG files comes from SVG Cuts using the Santa Card file from their Christmas Open House Kit.  I am in love with their files, and I've found them VERY reasonably priced for all that's included.  They often offer a sale where if you buy two you get a specific kit FREE!  Whoohoo!  I LOVE free, and that's exactly how I acquired this Christmas Open House kit!  Here's my card, and I love the way it turned out, BTW.  ;-)  You don't often hear me say that out loud, because I'm my own worst critic!
Isn't that the CUTEST little winking face you've seen?  I knew when I saw this card file that I wanted to use my new Peachy Keen Everyday Character Faces 1.75" to give Santa that ornery wink.  It turned out just as I pictured it in my head, and yes, I DO picture things in my head... ALL the time!!  It's how I roll!!  I cut the pieces for Santa with my Silhouette Cameo using the Make The Cut software.  I ran the piece for Santa's beard and mustache through the Big Shot using the swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder, and I sponged the edges using Sahara Sand ink from Stampin' Up!.  The skin tones were sponged with Cameo Coral Stamin' Up! ink, and his face was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink.  I colored the white of his eye with a Saukura White Gelly Roll Pen ( My MOST FAVORITE white gel pen).

For the sparkle on the fur of Santa's hat, I inked the pieces with Versamark clear watermark ink, and sprinkled them with Heat and Stick powder from Stampin' Up!  Using a heat embossing tool, I began melting the powder, and  after the powder is all melted, it gets REALLY sticky.   I then gave the pieces a generous dose of Martha Steward chunky glitter and the heat set it again.  This technique works so well, and the glitter doesn't come off if you use the heat and stick powder.  It stays in tact so much better than simply using glue and glitter.  Works like a charm EVERY time!

Well, I hope you think Santa is as totally adorable as I do!
It was sure fun making him, and I thank you so very
much for stopping by my blog.  Have a
glorious day and HAPPY STAMPING!

Sweet Little Snowman & A BIG SALE!!

Hello and happy day before Thanksgiving!  Are ya ready for Turkey Day at your house?  It's busy, busy, busy here getting ready, AND looking ahead to Christmas and all that I love about that!  Decorations are the main thing for me.  Well, besides the whole reason for the season and all the wonderful family traditions.  I JUST LOVE to decorate for Christmas, and while my heart hasn't really been into it the past few years, I'm finding that this year I'm looking forward to it.  I've got a cute little snowman tag to share with you.

I used the disappearing line technique once again to color this image.  I started with desert sand colored Momento ink and colored the adorable little top hat clad snowman with my Copic markers.  Sorry this photo is a bit blurry.  I had to grab it out of one of my galleries, as I'd deleted it from my camera.  :-/  This is actually a wooden tag that I covered with patterned paper and I even had cut that little snow cutie, because I didn't have the SVG file at the time.  Those SVGs to coordinate with stamps is a pretty snazzy idea, and makes fussing cutting a breeze!

Before I get back to the Thanksgiving preparations, I wanted to make sure and share some awesome sale information with you.  Peachy Keen Stamps is having their BIG THANKSGIVING SALE, and here are all the details about it.  This sweet snowman is just one of literally hundreds of images that you will find on sale there, and as is their style, there will be prizes, and freebies.  Here are all the details...

PKC 43 :: Anything Goes

 Good morning!
If you're looking for the Thankful Blog Hop, then click HERE.

WOW!  What a beautiful morning to wake up to!
Crisp, clean and cool air, a gorgeous sunrise, and the promise of a
wonderful day!   It just doesn't get any better than that, does it?  Add to that, the fact
that it's Friday and time for another Peachy Keen Challenge, and well, I couldn't be any happier
if there were two of me!  LOL!!  Seriously!  It's always a great day when I get to create and play with paper and stamps.  There's no better reason than a great challenge, and this week,  The Peachy Keen Challenge Blog has got the ever popular "Anything Goes Challenge" to play along with.

Here's the card I created for the current challenge.  This adorable little deer image is from the newly released PKSC-11 November 2012 Stamp of the Month set.  Drop by The Peachy Keen Stamps Store to find out how to subscribe and save BIG on these Stamp of the Month sets.  They are AWESOME!!

I used products that are part of this month's Peachy Picks Kit for the rest of the card, and that includes the card stock, patterned paper, and ribbon.  Those kits are a wonderful thing!  I just LOVE 'em!!

I colored this reindeer cutie with Copic markers, and he's popped up on the card with some foam dimensionals.   I simply cut a piece of rhinestone swirl to make the smoke from the chimney have some sparkle and bling.  I'm sharing this card over on The Peachy Keen Connection as a part of Challenge #2 (Use snow/snowflakes) for the Release Party festivities.  It might be a stretch, but there IS snow/snowflakes in the background of that paper!  ;-)  You have till Sunday to play along with the two challenges for a chance to win free stamps and a $50 gift certificate.  You can find quick links to the party and challenges on the main page. There's a GREAT tag challenge there, too! Lots of fun and SO many inspiring creations!  Join the fun today!!

If you're looking for more places to find inspiration, and a chance to win a great prize, then hop along with us for our THANKFUL BLOG HOP.  You have till Sunday to join in all that fun as well, and there are three $50 gift certificates hidden in that hop.  Winners will be drawn from the comments on ALL of the blogs included in the hop!  Don't miss it!  Our PKS Designers, both past and present have created some really amazing things for this hop, so it's a "WIN" regardless!  Hope to see you there!!!

Now that I've left you with so many places to visit and with so many chances to win, I'll wish you a beautiful day, and wonderful weekend, and lots of happy stamping!

Peachy Keen Thankful Blog Hop

Hello, and welcome to The ThINKin' Spot, and welcome also to our Peachy Keen Thankful Blog hop!  Our designers, both past and present have come together to share some things we've created with a "Thankful' theme.   You should have arrived here from the creative and very talented Cristina Garcia's Blog.  If not, then you're going to want to go waaaaay back to the beginning, at The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog because this is the last stop on this hop, and you're not going to want to miss a thing!

Here's a look at the card I created for this fabulous hop.  You may notice that this image looks a little different than most.  It's missing something, actually.  Can you figure out what it's missing?

How about the lines?!!  That's exactly what is left out!!  I used a "new to me" stamping technique, where I stamped the image in a light colored ink.  In this case I used Memento ink, as I usually do, but I stamped the Tanner Turkey image in Desert Sand colored ink, instead of my standard Tuxedo Black.  By using the lighter colored ink, what lines that are faintly there, completely disappear when the image is colored with Copics.  Pretty cool, huh?  I think so anyway!  This tecnhique really reminds me more of painting, because the colors actually meet instead of having a heavy black line between them.   I love the look for something a little different.

Well, as I mentioned, this is the last stop on the Thankful Blog Hop!  We're sure glad you could join us  for all the fun, and I sure hope you've enjoyed all the wonderful and inspirational creations you've found.  PLEASE tell me that you've left comments as you've hopped along, because there's $150 worth of gift certificates at stake!  Yes, you heard me right!  There are three $50 Peachy Keen Gift Certificates hidden along this hop.  Three of our designers will be choosing one lucky winner from the comments left on their blogs.  We don't know which three designers will be awarding a prize, so your best chance to win is to comment at each stop.  You've got plenty of time, because we won't close our hop for comments until 11:59 on Sunday, November 11th.  The winners will be announced on The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog on Monday.

Don't forget about the BIG WEEK LONG SALE!  It lasts till Monday, and we're giving away a FREE STAMP SET with every $30 order!  Get yours TODAY!!
Here are the details of the sale!

Below, please find a complete list of stops on the hop, just in case you want to go back for another look.  ;-)    Thanks so much for hopping with us, and I hope our creations have left you ready to do some happy stamping!
