Hogs and Kisses

Good morning!  I'm on my to warm, and sunny LA ( I HOPE!) for Winter CHA, but had to hop on here and share my Hogs and Kisses card with you.

Hubby's hurrying me out the door, because we have a two hour drive to the airport, so this is short and sweet.  I made this with some of the newly released Cottage Impressions stamps from The Scrapping Cottage.  This Pig Stamp is soooooo cute, and living on a farm, makes this new line of stamps very near and dear to my heart!  There's so many cute ones in this set, and I know I'm going to have to have them all!!!  Thanks for stopping by!!  Have a beautiful day, and happy stamping!

Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge #9

Good morning!  For my Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge this week, I created this cute card using buttons, which is the challenge.  To use buttons on your card or project.  I pulled my Cosmo Cricket Material Girl stack out for this card, which had buttons on it, and then used the tiny little green buttons for embellishment, so I'm covered on the button part.
I colored this Sew Happy Cocoa digital image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps with my Copics, and followed the Sweet Stop Sketch challenge for the layout.  I just love the way this cute little card turned out, and it will be perfect for a Thank You Sew Much card.  We had a lot of wonderful entries last week, so if you're a Cocoa fan, show us what you're doing with your stamps, and join all the rest of the Cocoa Crazies!!

I have been busy, busy, busy getting ready for CHA,  but I wanted to share these pictures with you that Allen took this morning when he went out to feed the cattle.  We had what they call a Hoarfrost last night, and everything is so frosty and beautiful this morning.  He grabbed the camera so that he could snap some photos before it disappears.
The sun was coming up behind these trees in our yard, creating that pretty pink glow.
Some of the cattle enjoying their breakfast.
 Messy eater, but so cute!!
The barbed wire fence around the hay covered with the frost.
Mr. Cardinal stopping by for a bit of breakfast.
Allen took these through the window of the French doors.
Not bad!  Thank heaven the window was clean!!  ;)

Thanks for stopping by today.  I leave Friday morning for warm and sunny Los Angeles and all the splendor of CHA.  Bet there's no Hoarfrost there.   Have a beautiful day!

Peachy Keen Challenge #44

Good morning!  I have another Peachy Keen Challenge coming your way, and this week, we have a sketch with a twist.  I LOVE sketches, and this one was designed by our very own Viv.  I REALLY had fun with this, and the twist on this sketch is to do a monochromatic color scheme.  I was so anxious to ink up this adorable Pk-282 St. Patrick's Day stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps, that I kinda spaced about the monochromatic thing.  Thankfully, my shamrock paper saved me, because there's a whole bunch of shades of green there.
I colored this with Copics, but I'm not at all happy with my little fella's beard.  I went too dark with my red tones, and couldn't get the dimension I wanted after going so dark.  That happens sometimes when using darker colors, so you see, we ALL make mistakes we're not happy with, and I've just shared one of my oopsies with you.  I heat embossed the Pot O Gold with gold embossing powder, and I love that the gold coins, punched from metallic gold card stock work as one of the elements in this sketch.  The stars were punched with SU star punches out of like colored card stock, inked with Versamark, and sprinkled with heat and stick powder.  Once the heat and stick powder is melted and REALLY sticky, then a good dousing of gold and green glitter were applied.  This is a great way to sparkle things up, but once you heat set it after you've applied the glitter, it doesn't fall off everywhere.  Heat and stick powder is a wonderful thing, and I get mine from Stampin' Up!.   I finished this card off with some gold cord behind my leprechaun, and some green rhinestones down the side of the large panel.  That pretty much does it for this card!

Be sure to check out the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog to see all the wonderful creations from our amazing and talented designers.  We have a special guest designer this week, too!!  Erika has some amazing creations to share that will amaze and inspire you, so please be sure to visit her blog to let her know how much you love what she's doing with her Peachy Keen Stamps.  I sure hope you get the chance to play along with this challenge, because one lucky winner will receive a K&Co. Valentine Design package valued at $20.00.  We had LOTS of players for our last challenge, and the cards were ALL wonderful!  I can't wait to see what our Peachy Keen fans do with this one!!

Thanks for dropping by today!  I'm so happy you could join me for a little bit.  I hope you leave inspired to do some happy stamping!  Have a wonderful day!!

I had fun with this cute Be Mine Kitty digital  image from Priscillastyles Store.  I colored it with my Copics, and for this card, I used some wonderful Bo Bunny Valentine paper, along with card stock which I dry embossed with a heart embossing folder.  The hearts were punched using the triple heart punch from Stampin' Up, and while you can't see it in this photo, below you can see that I added some of those wonderful stains from Lindy's Stamp Gang, for added sparkle to the hearts.

Birthday Surprise!!!

Good morning!  I have a special post today for a special birthday surprise!  It's Angelica's birthday, and the members of the Peachy Keen Design Team and the Let's Face It Friday Design Team are all sharing cards we've created in celebration of Angelica's big day!
Here's my card, created with the Follow Your Heart stamp set designed by non other than the birthday girl herself, and it's part of her amazing Market Street Stamps line.  I chose this set, because whenever I correspond with Angelica, I always find myself calling her sweetie.  Don't ask me why, and she may hate it, I don't know.  I guess she's about the same age as my own kids, and I do think she's just about as sweet as they come.   She IS a sweetie!!

I paper pieced the largest of the birds in this stamp set with coordinating paper from the wonderful Crazy Love collection by Bo Bunny.  A little Copic work for shading, and some good old fashioned stamping for the branch and leaves, and VOILA!  A birthday card for our sweet Angelica!!  She does so much for all of us on the design teams, and it's such an honor to be among those that get to celebrate with her today.  I already sent Angelica a vintage style card that I thought she might like, but this one will be off in the mail to her soon, as well.  Be sure to stop by the blogs of all of our PKS designers to see what they've created for Angelica!
Here's a list for you to follow:
Happy birthday to you, sweetie!  I love ya bunches, and am grateful for and appreciate everything you do!  I hope you have a sweet and special day!

PKS New Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!!  It's time to start hoppin', and we're hoppin' this month in celebration of the new releases for Valentine's and St. Patrick's Day at Peachy Keen Stamps.  If you've arrived here from the talented Kim's Paper Punch Addiction Blog, they you're on the right track, but if not, then hop yourself right back to the beginning to the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog and begin from there, because you're just not going to want to miss one single stop!  Why you might ask?  Well, for starters, there's an abundance of inspiration from our amazing design team, AND you could win a free stamp set from each blog along the way, just for leaving a comment!!!!  See what I mean, you REALLY don't want to miss this!!!!  :)

Without further adieu, here is my card created from the sneak peek image you saw earlier this week.  First of all, I followed the sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers this week for the layout, then,  I colored this adorable Valentine Cupid mouse with my Copics using a brush stroke technique to get the look of real fur.  I popped up a few of the hearts and covered them with Stardust Stickles for sparkle, along with the wings, and the arrow was cut by hand and placed in little Cupid's hand.  The I LOVE YOU sentiment comes from the same stamp set, PK-281, and it just so happens that our peachy leaders have given me one of these stamp sets to award to one lucky commenter.
What do you need to do to be elegible?  Well, I'd love for you to become a follower, because I only need four more to reach 1,000 , and I plan on having some wonderful prizes to give away when I reach that point, and leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite sweet treat is for Valentine's Day.  That's it! I'll choose a random winner from the comments on Monday,  January 24th, and announce the winner then.

Here's a little closer look at the sparkle and dimension on this card.  Can you believe I refrained from embellishments on this card?  I know, I know.  THAT'S a Ripley's!!  I decided that this beautiful paper from Little Yellow Bicycle, and the paper piercing on the corners was more than enough to frame this adorable image, and I didn't want to distract from that in the least!  He's just sooooo stinkin' CUTE!!
Next is a clean and simple card that I made.  While playing around with the heart stamps in this set, I stamped them randomly on white card stock.  I then took my Copics and colored some of the hearts in pink and red, and left some open.  Kind of made my own background paper.  I then took my square Nestabilities and cut the stamped card stock, and put them on this card that I embossed using my Score Buddy.  As I said, clean and simple, and very fast and easy, and that allowed me to show you the versatility with this stamp set.  There's definitely something for everyone with this one, my friends.  I can see using this for so, so many things!!

Below is a picture of the wonderful and versatile PK-281 stamp set that I'll be giving away on Monday.
Now your next stop on this glorious hop will be at the sweet and talented Heidi's Got Scraps  blog.  Heidi has something fabulous and fun to share with you, so you'd better get hopping!!  Below is a complete list of stops in order, should you get lost along the way.

Thanks so much for hopping along with us tonight.   I hope you've been inspired along the way, and I wish you much love, laughter, and of course happy stamping!

Here is my card for this week's challenge, and I have several people to thank for helping to ensure that this card was ever even created.  This is the first card I've ever made using my new Gypsy, and I have to say that I REALLY like using it, and can see the endless possibilities.  It was my hope that the Gypsy will inspire me to use my Cricut more, and I think it's going to do just that!  So, thank you, Jenny  for allowing me to give this girl a home.  Thanks goes out to Nikki  for her encouragement and reminding me on a regular basis that I NEED to get a Gypsy because I will just love it!  You were right, Nikki!!  And, thanks to Emma for her Gypsy How To Video series.  They were and are very helpful, and are a great resource for anyone getting started!!
I used the Sweethearts cartridge for the base heart, which I found in the Shadow tab, then cut the flourish 1/4 inch smaller.  I added pearl embellishments around the heart flourish, and I found three flowers that I had crocheted a couple of years ago that I'd forgotten all about.  They worked so well for the element in the sketch.  The lace across the center of the card is some that I crocheted a while ago, and I threaded some taffeta ribbon through the center .  This wonderful digi image from Priscilla Styles Store was colored with Copics, and cut out by hand. I threaded part of the flourish through a couple of slits I made in the arm to bring everything together.
You can see from this picture that I used a lot of the Moon Glow Starburst Stain from Lindy's Stamp Gang on the paper.  I simply gave the paper a good coating of the stain, then let it dry overnight.  Once it was dry, I ironed, and yes, I said IRONED the paper to make it smooth again, but if you crinkled the paper up, that would be a great effect, too.  I also added some of the stain to the base heart layer.  This card was a labor of love, but oh, so worth it!  I hope you likey!!  Now, bee sure to head over to  the Midnight Madness Challenge Blog to feast your eyes all all the amazing and inspirational creations the design team has for you.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a beautiful day and happy stamping!

Valentine Love Card

Good morning!  Today I have a Valentine card to share with you that I made with my new Valentine dies from The Scrapping Cottage.  I used the Vintage Keys die and Frames 1 dies for this card, as well as the Frame 1 word/sentiment stamps.

The key was made by cutting it with white card stock, then coating the surface with Versamark ink and sprinkling on gold embossing powder.  After a quick heat set to melt the powder, I let it cool or set up for a minute, then repeated the process two more times for a nice, thick metallic look to the key.  This was a fast and easy card, and I sure like those every once in a while.  I cut the Label 1 in both red and white, and stamped the sentiment with the Label 1 word stamps. The addition of some pearls, ribbon and a metal heart sticker finished this card off just beautifully.

Thanks so much for dropping by for a visit today!  I wish you a glorious day and weekend and lots of happy stamping!

Ya Wanna See Something CUTE?

Good morning!!!  Well, it's been a long time coming, but I've just GOT to share this with you!!  A few weeks ago Allen comes in with this package marked "CONFIDENTIAL", and opens it up to find a cover letter with very specific instructions for him.  The instructions explained that some of my blogging sisters would like for him to film me opening the package to get my reaction.    He guarded the package for a couple of days till we could get the Flip camera charged, and then he deemed it was time and I could open it.  Well, our plan was great, but our Flip camera is junk, which we found out after we got everything opened and tried to upload and view the video.  That thing is going back to the store, because it hasn't worked right from the start.  Hopefully I can exchange it for one that works like it should.  Anywho, I have wonderful photos to share with you of the lovingly created contents of the box from my very special Sisterhood friends.

So we gather around the Christmas tree, and I begin.  The first thing I come to is this:
This is from my Sisterhood friend Paola, or Sweet P. as we lovingly call her.  This adorable card matches the pages she scrapped, and she sent us It's A Boy blue hot chocolate.  YUMMY on both the card and hot chocolate!!!!  Have you ever seen "It's A Boy" hot chocolate before?  I haven't!!
Next I came to this beautiful 8x8 scrapbook all wrapped in pretty tissue.  This isn't baby Max in the photo, but soon this will have a picture of our sweet little guy!  Now on to the wonderful goodness inside, and can I just say that I have always admired the talent that is shared among our Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards group, but you're about to see just how talented this amazing group of crafters really are!  Prepare to be AWED!!!

The first layout was made by Sweet P., and matches that adorable card she sent.  Can you believe all the wonderful detail on these?  I still marvel at ALL the pages in this book, because the Sister's attention to detail is impeccable!!   This is actually the first and last page of my scrapbook, and I love that she included a place for us to put all Max's birth stats.
The next pages I came to were lovingly created by my sweet friend Kadie.  I am always in awe of Kadie's ability to combine papers and embellishments in the perfect combination for winning layouts and cards every time she creates something.  Kadie is a constant source of inspiration for me, and one of the sweetest and kindest people on the face of this glorious earth!!  How do you like those onesies hung by safety pins on that little line, and see what I mean about all the wonderful detail?
The third layout in my adorable book was created by the ever so sweet and wonderful Judy.  Judy is one of the most positive, uplifting, and faith filled friends a person could ever ask for, and just reading one of Judy's posts can turn your entire day into a glorious blessing.  All of that, and she's a truly talented artist, too!  Don't you LOVE this SWEET layout?  Those little bugs, the buttons, ribbon and all the special details make me so happy!!
The next layout was done by Debbie Jones, and I can't begin to tell you in mere words how special this page is to us.  My son (baby Max's daddy) is a deputy, and he loves his job so much.  Debbie created these pages especially for Max with the Sheriff theme, using this gorgeous paper with stars, The Greeting Farm cowboy paper, and complete with a little cowboy image, lasso, and a hand made gold sheriff badge.  The color and texture on these pages is wonderful, and it was a BIG hit with all of us, but especially Tyler! Debbie is such a sweet and supportive friend!  We LOVE this, Debbie!!
Creating layout number 5 is the very dear Michelle.  Michelle is the master of Prismas, and her work always has such a soft and beautiful look and feel to it.  I am always filled with such peace and joy every time I get the chance to see one of her beautiful creations.  This gorgeous layout is actually quilted with stitching between the patterned squares, and has the perfect blend of texture, embellishment and bling, and that adorable little bunny looks so soft and sweet!  Don't you LOVE the colors?
Pages 10 and 11 of my scrapbook were created by the bright and beautiful Kelly.  Can't you just tell how Kelly's warm, bright and beautiful personality come out in her creations?  She's such an inspiration to so many of us, and I love her dearly!  I absolutely adore this combination of polka dots and stripes, and the rick-rack trim makes the papers literally POP!  There's plenty of room for pictures of Max, and room for journaling in the little box next to the giraffe.  Max's room when it's completed this Spring will be done using a safari animal theme.  I LOVE the way Kelly used the buttons for wheels on the safari animals, and the contrasting photo corners are wonderful!
I realized AFTER the photos were taken that these pages should be switched.  There may be a couple of these that way.  Oh well!  It doesn't take away one bit from the AWWWWW factor of this layout created by the VERY sweet and talented Carol.  She made us all laugh at her adorable choice of images, and how great is that paper?!  This little fella in the over sized hat,  is sporting all the essentials of every cowboy...  Well, ALMOST all the essentials.  Where's the pants?  LOL!!  How can you not smile when you look at these pages?  The Souther Sheriff's Department!  That is so creative and cute, and again, Tyler was grinning from ear to ear when he saw these pages!  Carol, my friend, we absolutely LOVE this!
Now, how cute is this layout created by the talented, supportive, loving and kind Jeanette?  Don't you love that sweet little boy in the tree?  He's beautifully colored, and flanked by those pretty blue rhinestones.  All Boy!  That will probably be an understatement!  I know that in a flash, little Max will be climbing trees and getting in to who knows what, and thanks to my dearest Jeanette, we have the pages ready and waiting for the day!  One of my favorite things about this page, and there are many, BTW,  is the background paper that has the definition of a little boy.  It says, "Boy, noun.: a noise with dirt on it."  OMG!!  That is sooooo darned cute, and true!!  Oh, so true!!!
Here we have a second layout by the ambitious and talented Debbie J.  These should be switched, too, but you get the drift.  She left us plenty of space on these pages for pictures and journaling, and I just love the little train filled with toys.  Little boys ARE indeed loads of fun!!  I can't wait to get some pictures onto these pages!  Thanks you so very much, Debbie for TWO wonderful layouts!!
This adorable layout was created by our sister, Mary.  I see these pages should be switched as well, but don't you love how Mary has included journaling boxes for 1 month and 2 months, and that paper is just too cute!  Perfect for a little boy, and full of wonderful color and texture in the embossed background.  It makes you happy just looking at it!  These will be fun pages to choose photos and journal.  Thanks so much, Mary!  We LOVE them!
The VERY talented and wonderfully sweet Susan created this layout.  I can't begin to tell you how stunning these hand stitched pages are IRL, and I'm just not sure I captured how amazing it is in the photo.  The lavender, and yellow are of course perfect compliments, and the scalloped photo windows are such a wonderful touch.  Susan has included some sparkle on her letters and the adorable lamb and bunny are perfect with the DP.  The corner button embellishments finish off this gorgeous layout.   Thank you so very much, Susan!  This is indeed a treasure, as are you, my friend!
I was so excited to see these Love Bug pages included from our sister Tanja, who moved back to Germany last summer and is the sister who is physically farthest from us, but that's only in the physical sense, because she's always close to our hearts, and thank heaven she's only a post, comment, or email away.  I LOVE cyberspace!  These pages are AMAZING!!  From the impeccable machine stitching to the wonderful tags that slide from under each picture window, Tanja included lots of room for pictures, and journaling, and how do you like the way she included buttons throughout the layout?  Buttons for peas, wheels, and the bees.  It's just fantastic!!!
And last, but certainly NOT least, is this bright and beautiful layout created by the amazing, wonderful, sweet, generous (I could go on forever), and VERY talented Catherine.  When I saw the return address on the box, I immediately recognized the address as being Catherine's, so I suspect that all of this wonderful goodness was organized and orchestrated by this very sweet and wonderful soul.  Catherine has been a very special friend who I can always count on for a word of encouragement when it's needed the most.  What a talented, spiritual and wonderful person she is, and her friendship is a true blessing.  Thank you so much, my dear friend for that greatest gift of all... Y-O-U!!

As you might be able to tell, I have a special place in my heart for each and every one of my sisterhood friends.  The friendships that have culminated among the members of this group are ones that will last a lifetime.  Even if we don't have the chance to chat every day, it always seems like we can pick up right where we left off when we do.  There is a genuine love and caring for each other, that fills the gaps in the miles we are from each other, bringing us about as close as any group of friends can be.  I cherish my sisterhood friends, and always will!  Thank you all so very much from the bottom of my heart for being there for me to share the good times, and the not so good times.  Your friendship brings me joy through it all!!  I love ya all BUNCHES!!!

If you have the chance to follow the links provided on their names, please drop by the sisterhood blogs listed and tell them you saw their wonderful creations on my blog.  I'd like for them to feel as special as they've made my family feel.  Thank you for your visit, and I wish you a blessed day filled with the joy of wonderful friends and of course happy stamping, too!

Oops!  I was getting so sappy and sentimental that I almost forgot what was at the bottom of the box!
There are some wonderful baby stickers that match the layout Judy made, an adorable card made by Catherine, and these hilarious mini stamps with the ever popular "Poo happens" and "Does this diaper make my butt look big?" sentiments!  I LOVE it all, and thank you again sisters!  You are the VERY BEST!!
