Peachy Keen Stamps & Miss Kate Cuttables Co-Hop

Good Morning!

Have you been enjoying the cute Spring creations you've seen for the Peachy Keen Stamps & Miss Kate Cuttables Co-Hop Event?  If you haven't, then you're in for a treat!  It started yesterday and will go through Friday of this week.  There are some amazing prizes being given away for this event and I'll share all the details about that at the bottom of this post, but first, let's get to the cute and crafty stuff!!  Here's the card I created using Miss Kate Cuttables SVG files and Peachy Keen Stamps.

\

For creating this, I used the Tulips SVG File from Miss Kate Cuttables.  I used scraps of card stock for the various colors, and stamped these adorable little faces using the PK-1300 Sweet & Innocent Face Assortment.  I like to add shading to projects like this, using my Copic markers and matching the marker color up to the card stock.  It just gives that little pop of dimension or a 3-D effect that finishes it off.  It's all about the details!!

One detail that is SO important (at least to me) when using PKS faces is the white for the eyes.  It make a HUGE difference in how the finished product looks and it's done, simply with a white gel pen.  My favorite white gel pen is a White Gelly Roll pen and can be found at the SUPER REASONABLE price of $1.69 in the Peachy Keen Stamps Store!!  I've used a multitude of white gel pens over the years, but these are ever faithful.  They have a medium/fine tip for filling in the smallest of eyes, and I've never had one of these pens clog to date.  Yep!  It's my fav!  The "punny" Plant one on me! sentiment comes from the PKSC-16 April 2013 Stamp of the Month stamp set, which just so happens to be on sale as one of the Hot Dealsale items in the PKS Store.  I ♥ that stamp set!!

I think that about does it for me, but be sure to stop by the Peachy Keen Stamps and Miss Kate Cuttables Blogs where you'll see projects from the rest of today's team.  Prize Info for our co-sponsored event can be found below!!

The Release Week fun continues!  If you haven’t visited our first day of peeks, be sure to pop over so you don’t miss a chance to win!
Today, on the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog, our designers are sharing ideas using Diddle Diddle and Over the Moon! Kathy recreated the classic nursery rhyme in her own whimsical style. These designs would be adorable for new baby greetings, baby shower invites, decorations, or layouts for kids.
Here's my take on a card featuring the classic nursery rhyme.  I used  the cat from the Diddle Diddle stamp set!  Oh my!  This one is a MUST HAVE!!

I have had that patterned paper for so long I can't even remember the name of it, but when I found it, I was ecstatic because I knew it would be SO perfect for this stamp set!!  I stamped this fiddle playing cutie with Memento Tuxedo Black in and colored with Copic markers.  The button and ribbon are some of my Stampin' Up! treasurers.

If you’re just finding out about release week and joining us today, be sure to visit the Peachy Keen Stamps’ Blog all week long so you don’t miss a chance to win or a single set we’re peeking!

Katie Sue Designs/Peachy Keen Stamps Blog Hop

Hello and WELCOME, my stamping friends!
Well, you've almost made it to the end of this blog hop!  What did you think?  Aren't my design team sisters AMAZING??  We hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have enjoyed creating and sharing!   I created a sweet card for this special event.  I hope you like it and that it inspires you to give the Flower Soft products a try with your Peachy Keen Stamps.  Pairing these two products up is a win/win situation in my book!  Here's my card:

I stamped this cute little puppy with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic markers.  You can find this sweet little fella as a part of the PK-1334 Howling Puppy stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I used up some more of my scrap paper for the background and all of the card stock is from Stampin' Up!.

Here's a closer shot that beautifully demonstrates the texture and color variation of the  Tree Textures Clam shell from Katie Sue Designs.   I also used the Flower Soft Glue, to adhere the sprinkles.  It works SO well with the sprinkles!!

I hope when you were hopping along that you had the chance to leave comments for everyone, because each comment will earn you the chance to win one of two $25 Gift Certificates that will be given away.  We don't know which designers will be choosing the winners, so leave a comment on each blog for the best chance to win!!  Winners will be announced on Friday on the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog!!  Please DO be sure to leave me some contact info, with your comment so that we can let you know if you're one of our winners!  Here's the complete hop order in case you get lost or hit a snag along the way.  :-)

Lorie Souther  (You are HERE!)
Your next stop on this hop, is at The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog, and it'll be the last.  We're so happy to have you hopping along with us today!!  Please leave  us a comment there and let us know how the hop went for ya!

Hey Baby!

Good Morning!!

Well, we survived a busy weekend, and this week has been off to an equally busy start.
I've actually had some time to get to the craft cave and be creative, though, and I'm excited about that!  I was making up for some lost time while enjoying a little vacation, and the 4th of July holiday.

It's been pretty nice in the 'ol craft cave, as our weather has been H-O-T and HUMID!
Summer has definitely arrived, but I'm not complaining one bit!  It was a long, cold winter, and
I'm going to enjoy the hot weather while we've got it!

Here's what I came up with for our recent Flower Soft challenge, which is to use their paper coated wire in an unusual way on our projects.  I immediately thought of curly hair, and had the idea in my head to use the wire for curls and coat it with a mixture of Flower Soft colors for texture.
Sounds like a plan, right?  YOU tell me...

This sweet little image is from PK-209 Life is Good Babies from Peachy Keen Stamps, and the sentiment is from PK-208 Hey Baby.  I paper pieced the little cutie, and colored her with Copic Markers.  For her hair, I colored the paper coated Flower Soft Wires with a dark brown Copic marker, and then wound a length of the wire around the end of my paper piercing tool to make a tiny spiral.  Once I had all of my spirals created, I bent them to follow the flow of my baby girl's curls, and proceeded to coat them with Flower Soft Glue and  Flower Soft Ultra Fine Sprinkles in Earth color, and I added in just a tiny bit of Flower Soft Ultra Fine Sprinkles in Toffee color, just for a subtle pop of contrast or highlight in her hair.  After each curl had dried, I glued it directly to the paper with additional Flower Soft Glue.

Finishing this card was just a matter of coordinating the background paper to the paper piecing I did. I added some hand stitching to the edges of the green panel and finished everything off with ribbon, and rhinestones.  I did layer the paper pieces for some added dimension, and I've got to tell you about the SUPER HELPFUL tiny foam pads that allowed me to layer and add dimension without having to cut larger foam pads down to size.  I used these teeny, tiny, and versatile Kool Tak 1/8 x 1/8 x 1/16 size square foam pads and I LOVED them!!  They were so handy, and since they are cut into squares, there's no waste at all, AND there's a whopping 1360 foam squares in this one little package  So "KOOL"!

Here's a close up look at the Flower Soft detail on her hair.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Stop by on Friday, because I've got a gorgeous shaker card to share with you using more Flower Soft and Kool Tak products!
Have a glorious day and HAPPY STAMPIN'!!

Christmas In July at Peachy Keen Stamps!!

GOOD MORNING
&
HAPPY WEEKEND!

Well, at least there's still a little weekend left!  I hope that you have enjoyed a wonderful extended weekend celebrating the 4th of July.  We've had a great time.  From taking our grandsons to the carnival, enjoying some wonderful time with family and yummy food (those two always go hand-in-hand), the fireworks, and just doing what needs to be done here on the farm, it's been a fabulous few days.  I haven't gotten in nearly as much crafty time as I would have liked, but I did manage to get this card finished.  I colored this image when I was visiting Peachy Keen Headquarters last week, and I chose my color palette just for the Non-Traditional Color Challenge for the Release Party.

Drop by The Peachy Keen Connection, where you'll find quick links to play along with one or BOTH of our challenges on the main page.  We'll be giving away one $25 Gift Certificate to one lucky winner from each challenge, and the only rules are that you need to use your Peachy Keen Stamps.  Come on and play along!  You KNOW you want to!!  ;-)

Here's the card I created using the newly released PK-1328 Yummies stamp set.

Crafting Desert Diva's Linky Party!

Good Morning!!

There's a fun little linky party going on that I'm guest designing for this week, and I've gotta tell you that it was hard to keep this card under wraps till this day came when I could share it!

I LOVE this stamp set, which was a freebie from Peachy Keen Stamps when you placed an order during their Memorial Day Sale.  What a great set to have for all your red, white, and blue patriotic projects, and it was PERFECT for this linky party theme!

Head over to the Craftin' Desert Diva's Blog for all the details about this party, which will last for two weeks.
Here's my Red, White and Blue creation!

I think most of this card is pretty self explanatory, but I'll run through how I put this one together for you.  I first stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I colored it with Copic markers.  My favorites for this project were B12, B14, B16 and B18, and R22, R24, R27, and R29.  I used some patriotic paper that was in my one sheet wonder bin.  This is an assortment of paper that I got at the great price of 4/$1, but they were single sheets, and many there were only 1 sheet of each.  Hence the One Sheet Wonder bin!  ;-)  I'm not even sure who makes this paper, but any of your favorite red, white and blue papers would be beautiful if you wanted to recreate this one.  For the striped panel behind the heart I used an embossing folder that I purchased from Stampin' Up! last year.  I thought the texture of the stripes was a nice addition to pick up the pattern of the stripes in the image.  The sentiment is a part of this great set from Peachy Keen Stamps, but it was only available for a limited time during their Memorial Day Sale.  I colored the stamp directly with Stampin' Up! markers so that I could do part of it blue and the USA part red.  The ribbon is a simple red grosgrain, but again the texture of the raised ribs/stripes in the ribbon is another subtle bit of texture that ties everything together.  I like it when that happens!!

I think this about does it for today!

It'll be fun to see all of the red, white and blue creations that'll be shared for the linky party right before the 4th of July, which is one of my favorite holidays!  I hope you'll be able to join in the linky party fun!!  PINQUE PEACOCK is sponsoring a GREAT prize valued at
$15.00, so there's even MORE reason to play along!
I. CAN'T. WAIT!

Thanks for stopping by and have a WONDERFUL day filled with happy stamping!

PKS June Release :: Sneak Peeks :: Day 1

WELCOME!!!
I'm so glad you're here, because...

It's FINALLY time to start sharing the sneak peeks of the new release that's coming at Peachy Keen Stamps!  It is SO hard to hold back and NOT share each  month, when we get these stamps and see all that cuteness!!  My card is made using the new Stamp of the Month set, as well as an adorable add on set.  I combined this sneak peek with a little designer challenge going on at Flower Soft.  We were challenged to create a beach scene, and well, you'll see what I mean, but these stamps were PERFECT for that challenge!!

What'd I tell ya?  Aren't these stamps ADORABLE??  The Ultra Fine Sand from Flower Soft worked beautifully to create the sandy beach and add some great texture to the finished piece.  It's a MUST HAVE for all your summer beachy creations as far as I'm concerned!  I LOVE IT!!  The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.

Drop by The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to see even more wonderful sneak peeks from my fellow DT Sisters, and be sure to visit their blogs for all the details about their peeks for you tonight.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend, and remember that this is just Day 1 of Sneak Peek Week, and we've got three more days of sharing with you.  It all leads up to our BIG RELEASE PARTY on Wednesday, June 5th at 6:00 p.m. CDT.  We'll be chatting up a storm, sharing MORE amazing projects, playing games, throwing out some fun challenges for you to play along with, and giving away some free stamps!  Pretty sweet deal, and LOTS of fun!  You can join our EVENT PAGE on Facebook to RSVP.

HAPPY STAMPING!!

SVG Cutting Files & PKS Blog Hop

GOOD MORNING!!

Welcome to Day #2 of our Blog Hop/Cross Promotion with Peachy Keen Stamps and SVG Cutting Files.  It's sure been fun, and we've enjoyed sharing all these wonderful creations with you!    Here's the card I created for today's festivities.  For this sweet card, I used the "Cute As Can Bee" cut file from SVG Cutting Files.  The base of my card is another great cut file from SVG Cutting Files, called Scalloped Open Card Base.

I am so happy with how this turned out.  For the face of this sweet little lady, I used the new PK-1200 Moodies Face Assortment stamps, and the PK-195 Honey Sentiments, both from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I cut everything with colored card stock and did some shading with both sponges and Copic markers, EXCEPT for the hair.  The hair was cut with (white) X-Press It Blending Card so that I could color and shade it with my Copics.  The honeycomb is a Sizzix embossing folder, and the paper I used for that is Core'dinations (kraft core) card stock.  I sanded the embossed edges lightly and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink.   I took some patterned paper scraps and punched little hexagon shapes to fit inside the embossed hexagons, and as a backdrop for this sweet little bee, I used the same patterned paper scraps to cut a circle and scalloped circle with my Spellbinders dies.  The scalloped edge along each side of my card is done with a Stampin' Up! punch and the ribbon is also from my Stampin' Up! stash.  I finished this card off with a little bling on her antennae, and down the side of the card.  I ♥ HER and she is indeed as cute as can bee!!

Now, this wouldn't be a blog hop if we didn't have some prizes for ya, and we've got that covered!!  Both Peachy Keen Stamps and SVG Cutting Files are giving away a $35 Gift Certificate for each day of the hop!  THAT'S a total of FOUR $35 Gift Certificates that you could win!  All you need to do is leave a comment to be entered to win, but since we don't know which designer will be choosing a winner from their comments, you'll need to comment on each participating blog each day.  THAT'S pretty darned easy, though, and especially considering all the FABULOUS creations that you get to see along the way from BOTH design teams!!  Below, is a complete list of stops for Day #2 of our hop, just in case you should happen to get lost along the way.

Fall Swap Cards

Good morning!  I have a couple of Fall card swap cards to share with you today that I recently created with my Peachy Keen Stamps.  A fellow member of The Peachy Keen Connection hosted a Fall card swap over there, and since Fall is my FAVORITE time of year, I signed up for two spots.  Here are the cards I made.  I chose to do one Halloween card, and one Fall card.
For my Halloween card, I used a tag from a recent Stampin' Up! purchase.  They had a great card kit available that I thought would make quick and easy cards, and while I missed my stamp club meeting for that month, I was delighted when I found that the card shared for class was made with the kit I had chose to purchase.  THAT meant I had a sample using the card kit, and that's the layout I  used for this card.  I'll give my Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Nancy Williams credit for this brilliant layout.  I used the spider and sentiment from the Nikkity Knack Cat Gang for the printed tag, and I added some small googly eyes, which I thought would be a cute touch.   The "Have A Peachy Keen Halloween" sentiment was a free stamp that Peachy Keen Stamps gave out a few weeks ago during one of their fabulous sales.  Lucky shoppers were treated to this stamp with each order placed.  I hope YOU were one of the lucky shoppers!  The card stock and spider web embossing folder, as well as the twine and tag all come from Stampin' Up!.
When thinking about my Fall themed card, I knew exactly what paper I would use.  I just got this great paper from Stampin' Up!, and I got it solely for this card swap.  Thanksfully, there's so much in the package that I have plenty for other great projects, too.  The AW SHUCKS sentiment and the adorable little ear of corn come from the PK-292 Faceless Corn stamp set from Peachy Keen.  I LOVE that "toothless" grin that is included in this set, and I always get a kick out of using it.  Seriously!  How can you look at that face and NOT smile.  It just can't be done!!  I kept the embellishments very minimal for this card, because I wanted the paper and that sweet image to shine.

I hope your Monday is off to an AMAZING start!  It's gonna be a GREAT week, so happy stamping to ya!

Isn't she cute?!!!!  Oh what a sweet little witch she is, and oh, so much fun to color.  Of course I did that with Copic markers.  The kraft tag, ribbon, rhinestones, card stock and patterned paper are all a part of this month's Peachy Picks Kit.  That sweet little witch?  Well, she's only a part of what may be the most fabulous Stamp of the Month set you'll ever see!  Did I tell you that you're gonna love it?  Well, you will.  You really, REALLY will!

You're All That & A Bag Of Chips

Good morning peachy friends!  Welcome to The ThINKin' Spot on this fine Wednesday!   I'm still having lots of fun with the August release from Peachy Keen Stamps.  My card for today was created with the PK-127 Sandwich Fun stamp set, and the August Peachy Picks Kit.

I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa  ink and then colored and shaded with Copic markers.  The sparkle of jelly that you see is actually purple or grape colored Stickles, which added some sparkle and texture to this sweet image.   I hope you like it, and are inspired to create something fabulous and fun with YOUR Peachy Keen Stamps!!
Are y'all ready for some new peachy goodness soon?  Well, it won't be long till the next round of peachy sneak peeks will be coming your way, and oh my are you ever gonna LOVE 'EM!!  Have a fabulous day, and happy stamping!!

Head of the Class!

Good morning!  Many of you are still sending your kiddos off to school, and I've got another card to share with you celebrating the whole back-to-school thing.  For this one I used one of the CAH-UTE sets release this month at Peachy Keen Stamps.   PK-126 Smartie the Owl is such a great set for so many wonderful cards and layouts, and I think he's just as cute as he can be!

Everything used to make this card comes from the August Peachy Picks Kit, and I especially love the faux Polaroid frames that are included with this kit.  What a fun idea and I can't wait to play some more with them.  I've seen some of our PKS designers use them to create little scenes, which is really cute, too.  I stamped Mr. Smartie with Memento ink and colored him in with Copic markers, adding texture by whisping the ink for the feathers and dotting the ink for his cute little round belly.  It doesn't show up so well in the photo, but I put some glossy accents on Smartie's glasses to make them extra shiny and add some dimension.

I'm really missing my Granny today.  It's really odd how that hits one at what can be the most inopportune or unexpected time.   I've got so many wonderful memories of her, and each time I open a cabinet and see her handwritten note or recipe that she has taped inside, it brings a smile.  Sometimes tears, too, but always a smile.  I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday filled with only smiles and LOTS of happy stamping!  Have a blessed and beautiful day!

School's In Session -- Hip Hip Hooray!

Well school is "officially" in session in these parts and "Hip Hip Hoorays" can be heard ringing in the hills!  Not only are the kids excited and ready, but I think for the most part many parents are too.  Seriously, is there anything more exciting for a child the start of a new school year?  After a wonderful and very busy Summer, it always feels good to settle back into a regular routine and get back into the swing of things.  My card today celebrates all those "Hip Hip Hoorays".

I used PK-128 School Bus and Lunch stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps to create this card, as well as the August Peachy Picks Kit.  The theme for the August release at Peachy Keen Stamps is "Back-To-School", and these stamps are some of the cutest I've ever seen!  They make creating school themed projects so much fun, and they really make me miss the days when my little ones were beginning a new school year.

This happy little school bus was colored with Copic markers, and as previously mentioned, the patterned paper is from the August Peachy Picks Kit.  The only embellishment I used was this beautiful wide striped ribbon, which I absolutely LOVE!  I hope you like it, too!!

I'm so happy you could stop by today.  Have a wonderful day, and happy stamping to ya!  ... HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

Photo Memories

Good Monday mornin' to ya!  It's been a wonderful few days spent with family at the Missouri State Fair, and today is our last day, and we're headed home... right after I hit the lottery building yet again. *wink, wink* ;-)  I couldn't let this day get away from me without sharing a scrapbook page I made during sneak peek week last week. LOL!  Ya gotta love all the  modern conveniences at the campground (like WIFI)!! Heehee!  Have you seen that Peachy Keen Stamps has got a fabulous new school themed release out? There are so many wonderful possibilities using these new stamps, and I particularly love the amazing scrapbook page possibilities, with them.   Here's my take on just one.
I found this picture of my youngest when he was in first grade, and I'll be darned if I didn't find one of myself at the same age while I was rummaging through photos, so I managed to squeeze that one in too.  Those cute little caterpillars and the apples in varying degrees of being eaten are all a part of the PKSC-08 August stamp of the month set.  I know you probably get tired of hearing it, but I love these stamps, and honestly, I just don't think there's ANY I've seen that are cuter than these.  Be sure to drop by The Peachy Keen Stamps Store and check out all the new designs, including the fabulous add on sets.  They're WONDERFUL!!  The paper that I used on this project comes from the current Peachy Picks Kit available at Peachy Keen Stamps, too.  It's a monthly club, and oh, does it ever make things easier for the indecisive paper crafter, because it's all perfectly coordinated for us!  How cool is THAT?  Pretty darned cool, I'd say!

Well, it's back to the fair!  I hear the Lottery calling my name!!  Have a wonderful day, my sweet friends, and happy stamping to ya!
