A Little More Tea Time

Hello and happy Saturday!  I hope you're enjoying a fabulous extended weekend doing things that you love.  Here's a couple of cards I've been working on, and  I've had  plenty of fun with this Tea Time Release.  So... the fun continues!   For the first card, I went with somewhat of a cameo theme, by combining the Oval Doily and Frame die with the Teapot Mini die.  I simply cut everything with the desired color card stock, and added embellishments, along with the liquid pearls, which was a quick and easy way to give it a  special little "extra".
The next card was a fun one to make that also showcases the Oval Doily and Frame die.  Some pretty patterned paper, and some strategically placed pearls give this SWEET birthday card the perfect amount of bling.  The tea cakes were cut using the Tea Cakes 4x4 die, and they were colored with Copic markers.  The sentiments come from PK-106 With A Cherry On Top from Peachy Keen Stamps.
Here's a closer look at the detail of these sweet tea cakes.  I used Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects to make the ganache frosting look extra shiny.   Some coarse glitter on the fruit and flowers would have been a nice touch, too, BUT it would be best to do that BEFORE  the frosting, which needs plenty of drying time.
Thanks so much for stopping by The ThINKin' Spot today.  It's always wonderful to have you, and I wish you a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.  Happy Stamping!

Best Backyard Cook

Good morning!  It's another gorgeous day, and we're heatin' up around here.  Another thing that's heatin' up is the BBQ grill.  Many of you probably have BIG plans for the weekend, and most people plan to include a little, or a LOT of outdoor cooking for Memorial Day weekend.  Here's a little inspiration for the backyard cook in your life, and it was made using the new May Stamp of the Month stamps from Peachy Keen StampsPKSC-05 2012  is filled with wonderful images for you to create the perfect outdoor party!   With Father's Day just around the corner, this set offers some great possibilities for that special guy in your life, as well.

The paper, twine and button are all from the Peachy Picks Kit  for May, and don't let that amazing tablecloth background fool you, because it's not actual designer paper, but a stamp.  Yes, it's REALLY hard to tell, but this is the PK-117 Picnic Tablecloth background stamps that is a part of the May release.  LOVE this!!!!!  These images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with Copic markers.  I used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo to sponge the edges of the background stamped image.

I'm off and running today.  Headed out to pick up my nieces and nephew for a little fun in the sun.  YIPPEE!!  Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a blessed and beautiful day!  Happy Stamping!

Just Grillin'

Good morning!  BBQ season is in full swing, and I've got the perfect card for the Master of the Grill in your life.  The May stamp release at Peachy Keen Stamps is filled with wonderful stamp sets for creating outdoor party favors, invitations, and cards that will have your summer sizzlin'!  These are just too much fun!!

This card was created using the PKSC-05 May Stamp of the Month stamp set, AND the May Peachy Picks Kit, and BOTH sets are amazing and so much fun to create with.  From the amazing stamps, to the beautiful papers and accessories, it's a party in a package!  The images are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  I punched the little burgers out with a 1/2 inch circle punch and put them inside of the bottle cap accessories that are included in the Peachy Picks Kit.

Memorial Day Weekend is just around the corner, and these new stamps couldn't be more perfect to create everything you'll need to make it an extra special event at your house!

Thanks for dropping by!  It's always wonderful to have you, and I wish you a wonderful and very blessed weekend!  Happy Stamping!

CottageCutz Recipe Card/Oldies But Goodies Blog Hop

Good morning!  I'm getting double duty out of my post today, because I'm combining my CottageCutz project with the Oldies But Goodies Blog hop.  I have a cute little recipe card to share with you, as well as a video.  So without further Ado...

Welcome to the Oldies But Goodies Blog Hop for May!  If you've arrived here from the talented Maria Matter's Blog, they you are on the right track, but if you just happened along, then please go back to her blog and begin from there so you don't miss anything.   Each month, members of the Design Divas Facebook Group join together to bring you a fabulous blog hop, and the theme is "Oldies, But Goodies".  To qualify as an OBG project, we must create something using an item that's been in our stash but have not used for 6 months or more.   For my project, I pulled out my CottageCutz dies from the In The Kitchen release.  I haven't played with these for quite some time, and it was fun to work with them again.  Here is my card using my "Oldie But Goodie" Homemade Tag CottageCutz die from The Scrapping Cottage.  I also used the Napkin & Decorative Teaspoon, and the Strawberry Mini dies from the April 2012 Tea Party release.
(Just click on the picture to enlarge it and read the recipe.)
The paper that I used is from My Mind's Eye Life of the Party Collection.  The strawberries were cut with white card stock and colored with Copic markers, and you can see the video tutorial below as to how I colored those and what colors I used.  The edges of the tag, and napkin was sponged with chocolate chip classic ink from Stampin Up!   I cut the spoons out with metallic silver paper, and shaded the inside of them with a series of cool gray Copic markers ranging in color from C3-C9.  This recipe is so easy, and is it ever YUMMY!  Such an easy and delicious way to make strawberry shortcake!!

Your next stop on this hop will be at Vicki Pantrac's Blog.  I know she's got something amazing to share with you.  There's a complete list of stops for this hop below, in case you get lost along the way.  Have fun and enjoy the hop!  I'm so glad you could join us today!

Have a blessed and beautiful day and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
