Good morning!

It's a beautiful day here in the Midwest!  We woke up to a nice little rain shower, and it smells SO wonderful outside!  We sure need the rain/moisture in the ground, and that fresh, earthy smell is just an added bonus!!  Here's to hoping it will continue for a while.

I have a very soft, sweet and feminine card to share with you today that I made with  some of my fabulous products from Flower Soft.

This week, we're featuring the Multifunctional Die Cuts on our cards.  These are precut lengths of card stock that will make your card making life SO easy!!  For this card, I decided to use my chalks to give the flower petals a soft color, and I lightly brushed a little green chalk between the flowers to make them pop.
The scalloped circle in the center is a preprinted die cut kit called Grandma's Embroidery.  I simply stamped the "Thanks" onto the die cut and popped it onto the front of my card.

I finished this card off with some Finesse Pearl Flourishes that I got from Peachy Keen Stamps.  These are my favorites, and I use them for SO many projects!!  The final touch was the satin ribbon that I used to tie the front of my tri-fold card closed.

It's difficult to see in the photo, but the Pink Pirouette card stock from Stampin' Up!, has a texture to it that matches the homespun textured look of the die cut background.  It's little details like that, which make me happy!  :-)

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope your day is filled with things that make YOU happy!!

Winter Theater Card

Good morning and Happy Friday!!  I've got something fun to share with you this morning, and I have to admit that it was a little outside my comfort zone.  A very 3-Dimensional card!  This is one of the Winter Theater Card Downloads from Flower Soft.  Now, if I'm completely honest, I'll have to tell you that I have NO idea why this was so scary for me.  Well, that's hindsight, I guess, because it was so much easier than I thought they would be!!  Here's the card, and then I'll give you more of the details about it.  I WILL apologize in advance for the lack of being able to give you a really good photo.  The way this card is designed, causes a shadow to be cast on itself and no matter what I did, I couldn't seem to get rid of that shadow.  :-/

The front of the card.  I used some Spellbinders dies to cut all the fancy, schmancy stuff.  The image was simply downloaded to my computer, and printed with a standard printer.  For the snow, I used a combination of Flower Soft Glitter Frosting (Hint of Green),  and Flower Soft Polar White.  Of course, both were adhered to the card using Flower Soft Glue.  The sparkle at the top and bottom of the front of the card was created by laying down a strip of this SUPER tacky and strong Kool Tak Premium EXTREME tape.  You can read all about it by clicking on the link, but I've gotta tell you that this is some GREAT stuff!!  I used the 1/8" size and once I peeled off the paper backing to expose the sticky side, I covered it with more of that Flower Soft Glitter Frosting (Hint of Green).  This made a really pretty frame for the top and bottom of the card, and it adds such a beautiful sparkle to it.

This is the first two panels of the inside of the card.  This is where I thought it would be so tricky, but each download comes with easy to follow, printable instructions, and it really was a breeze to cut and put together.  Just a little bit of hand cutting and VOILA!

Here's a closer view of the front of the card and you can really see the sparkly tape that frames the top.

The second set of panels on the inside.  I just added some Spellbinders border for framing at the top, and another sentiment download for the inside.

All-in-all, I'd would say that I was very happy with how this turned out.  As I said, it was so much EASIER than I thought it would be and it went pretty quickly.  Anytime you need a really spectacular project that definitely packs the WOW factor, then this would be an excellent choice!!  These Winter Theater Card Downloads are currently on sale at HALF THE REGULAR price at Flower Soft.

Thanks for stopping by today, and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Winter Shaker Card

Happy Friday Y'all!!
Are you ready for a SUPER charged weekend?

Yeah, me too!  We've got everything from ballgames to rodeos planned and I even had some judging of scrapbook pages at the local county fair thrown in there.  Busy, busy, busy, but not TOO busy to get in a little crafting time.

I created this beautiful shaker card for our DT challenge at Flower Soft.
We were challenged to create a shaker card using Flower Soft products, so I pulled out the Christmas Snow Globes Christmas Card Toppers and set to work creating a snowglobe card.

I followed the instructions HERE on Splitcoaststampers to create my card, and I just changed the shape from the instructions to an oval.  I got to try out a new product for this, and I've got to tell you that I have a new favorite!  When placing the foam around the edge of the oval, I used this Kool Tak Clear Foam (yes, you read correctly... CLEAR) 3/16" x 1/16" double sided sticky tape.  Folks, this stuff is REALLY sticky and if found that it was easily stretchable, making it a breeze to place the tape around the oval without having to cut it, which creates seams and the potential for the pretty "shakey stuff" to fall out.  It was GREAT!!

The images on these card toppers are preprinted, so there's no coloring at all, which made this a SUPER easy project that went together fairly fast.  I did use some of the Kool Tak foam pads in a couple of sizes to layer the printed pieces of paper that I hand cut, and before sealing my shaker card, I added some sparkle to the snow and filled my shaker card with Flower Soft Polar White.  It's an amazing pure white look with an ever-so-subtle translucent sparkle to it.  SOOO pretty!!

To finish off this card, I dry embossed the white panel using the Stampin' Up! Snowflake embossing folder, and added some pearl embellishments.  The final touch was the preprinted sentiment, which I hand cut and attached using Kool Tak Foam Pads.

I hope you enjoyed this pretty peek of Winter in the midst of Summer.  It won't be long and we'll be needing these holiday cards for sending out!

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT weekend!!
HAPPY STAMPIN'!

Hey Baby!

Good Morning!!

Well, we survived a busy weekend, and this week has been off to an equally busy start.
I've actually had some time to get to the craft cave and be creative, though, and I'm excited about that!  I was making up for some lost time while enjoying a little vacation, and the 4th of July holiday.

It's been pretty nice in the 'ol craft cave, as our weather has been H-O-T and HUMID!
Summer has definitely arrived, but I'm not complaining one bit!  It was a long, cold winter, and
I'm going to enjoy the hot weather while we've got it!

Here's what I came up with for our recent Flower Soft challenge, which is to use their paper coated wire in an unusual way on our projects.  I immediately thought of curly hair, and had the idea in my head to use the wire for curls and coat it with a mixture of Flower Soft colors for texture.
Sounds like a plan, right?  YOU tell me...

This sweet little image is from PK-209 Life is Good Babies from Peachy Keen Stamps, and the sentiment is from PK-208 Hey Baby.  I paper pieced the little cutie, and colored her with Copic Markers.  For her hair, I colored the paper coated Flower Soft Wires with a dark brown Copic marker, and then wound a length of the wire around the end of my paper piercing tool to make a tiny spiral.  Once I had all of my spirals created, I bent them to follow the flow of my baby girl's curls, and proceeded to coat them with Flower Soft Glue and  Flower Soft Ultra Fine Sprinkles in Earth color, and I added in just a tiny bit of Flower Soft Ultra Fine Sprinkles in Toffee color, just for a subtle pop of contrast or highlight in her hair.  After each curl had dried, I glued it directly to the paper with additional Flower Soft Glue.

Finishing this card was just a matter of coordinating the background paper to the paper piecing I did. I added some hand stitching to the edges of the green panel and finished everything off with ribbon, and rhinestones.  I did layer the paper pieces for some added dimension, and I've got to tell you about the SUPER HELPFUL tiny foam pads that allowed me to layer and add dimension without having to cut larger foam pads down to size.  I used these teeny, tiny, and versatile Kool Tak 1/8 x 1/8 x 1/16 size square foam pads and I LOVED them!!  They were so handy, and since they are cut into squares, there's no waste at all, AND there's a whopping 1360 foam squares in this one little package  So "KOOL"!

Here's a close up look at the Flower Soft detail on her hair.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Stop by on Friday, because I've got a gorgeous shaker card to share with you using more Flower Soft and Kool Tak products!
Have a glorious day and HAPPY STAMPIN'!!

Christmas In July at Peachy Keen Stamps!!

GOOD MORNING
&
HAPPY WEEKEND!

Well, at least there's still a little weekend left!  I hope that you have enjoyed a wonderful extended weekend celebrating the 4th of July.  We've had a great time.  From taking our grandsons to the carnival, enjoying some wonderful time with family and yummy food (those two always go hand-in-hand), the fireworks, and just doing what needs to be done here on the farm, it's been a fabulous few days.  I haven't gotten in nearly as much crafty time as I would have liked, but I did manage to get this card finished.  I colored this image when I was visiting Peachy Keen Headquarters last week, and I chose my color palette just for the Non-Traditional Color Challenge for the Release Party.

Drop by The Peachy Keen Connection, where you'll find quick links to play along with one or BOTH of our challenges on the main page.  We'll be giving away one $25 Gift Certificate to one lucky winner from each challenge, and the only rules are that you need to use your Peachy Keen Stamps.  Come on and play along!  You KNOW you want to!!  ;-)

Here's the card I created using the newly released PK-1328 Yummies stamp set.
