Katie Sue Designs/Peachy Keen Stamps Blog Hop

Hello and WELCOME, my stamping friends!
Well, you've almost made it to the end of this blog hop!  What did you think?  Aren't my design team sisters AMAZING??  We hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have enjoyed creating and sharing!   I created a sweet card for this special event.  I hope you like it and that it inspires you to give the Flower Soft products a try with your Peachy Keen Stamps.  Pairing these two products up is a win/win situation in my book!  Here's my card:

I stamped this cute little puppy with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic markers.  You can find this sweet little fella as a part of the PK-1334 Howling Puppy stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I used up some more of my scrap paper for the background and all of the card stock is from Stampin' Up!.

Here's a closer shot that beautifully demonstrates the texture and color variation of the  Tree Textures Clam shell from Katie Sue Designs.   I also used the Flower Soft Glue, to adhere the sprinkles.  It works SO well with the sprinkles!!

I hope when you were hopping along that you had the chance to leave comments for everyone, because each comment will earn you the chance to win one of two $25 Gift Certificates that will be given away.  We don't know which designers will be choosing the winners, so leave a comment on each blog for the best chance to win!!  Winners will be announced on Friday on the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog!!  Please DO be sure to leave me some contact info, with your comment so that we can let you know if you're one of our winners!  Here's the complete hop order in case you get lost or hit a snag along the way.  :-)

Some Flower Soft Projects and What we've been up to!

Well, I guess it's about time I made a blog post this week!
Geez!  Does time ever get away from me anymore.  It seems life is just busier than normal lately, and trying to cram in everything we can before Summer is over sure hasn't helped.  We had a great time at the Missouri State Fair, but after 5 days of camping, LOTS of walking, and then the aftermath of all the unpacking and putting away, I'm EXHAUSTED!!   We'll add to that all of the work we've done around the house, like new flooring throughout, and we're "Do It Yourself-ers" around here.  We spent most of this week without a working kitchen as DH has been putting new tile down in the kitchen.  Just got the stove back in this morning, and we'll have some photos of the new floor soon.  Still got a few more scrubbings before it's up to par.  Oh,  and I CAN'T let this post get away from me without sharing with our our discovery on Saturday night!  Some of you may have seen it on my Facebook page, but I'll share it here, too.  It's almost too bizarre to believe, but photos don't lie!

Allen got all showered and was getting ready to go to bed on Saturday night, and when he went to turn back the bedspread, he was in for a surprise!!  He noticed pieces of splintered wood on the bedspread, and he couldn't quite wrap his head around what he was seeing.   It just takes a while for the shock of finding something like this to sink in!

We remembered hearing someone doing some shooting around 8 p.m., but we didn't think too much about it, because living in the country as we do, people often shoot trap, or at targets on neighboring farms.  It did sound a little louder than usual, and a little closer, but we had all of the bedroom doors shut to keep kiddos and our pet critters out, SO that's why we didn't discover this until bed time.

Apparently the neighbors directly east of us were doing some target shooting at the bank in front of their house, which would put them pointing their guns directly at our house, minus the bank.  From all indications, someone isn't a very good shot, because they missed the bank, and the bullet traveled about a half mile through the corner of our bedroom window, through the solid oak headboard, and ended up somewhere in our room.  We've looked, searched the closet and everything, but so far we haven't found the bullet.   The young man responsible did come by Sunday morning to see what had happened and he did let us know that he would pay for the damage, so that was a good thing, and  I did ask him to please find a different place to target shoot from now on.   We're very, VERY thankful that no one was in the room at the time, because the whole bizarre event could have been so much worse!!

SO, even with all this CRAZY stuff going on, I have found some time to craft.  Here are a couple of my recent Flower Soft projects.  I hope you like 'em!!

This card was created with the new Window Stamp set from the Timeless Collection of stamps from Katy Sue Designs.   The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I colored it with Copic Markers.  I used some Flower Soft Sprinkles in the areas surrounding the candles.  I chose the Flower Soft Vintage Christmas mixed colors for this project and it looks SO pretty in real life.  The photo just can't do it justice!

My second card was created using one of the stamp sets that has been released this week at Katie Sue Designs.  This sweet mouse comes from the new Tall Tales line of stamps.  You can find this cutie along with a sweet robin in the Robin and Mouse stamp set.  I used the snowflake flourish that was a part of that set as well, and I heat embossed it with white.  I love the way it turned out!!

I think that about does it for this post!
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!!!

The Stamps Of Life/Clearsnap Blog Hop

Good morning!

How about a little bit of fun on this beautiful Sunday?
The good folks at The Stamps of Life and Clearsnap have come together for a blog hop today to bring you some SUPER sweet creations using Clearsnap Ink and The Stamps of Life.  We know that you're excited to see what is being shared, so wait no longer!  Let's get HOPPING!!!

If you're hopping along in the scheduled order, you should have arrived here from the very talented Tami Sanders Blog.  If you just happened along, then YAY!  Thanks for joining us, but you might want to go back to the beginning and hop from there so you don't miss one amazing project!  It all started on the Clearsnap Blog HERE.

With my favorite time of year getting so close, and with this drastic change in temperatures we've had, I find myself ready to begin creating my Fall and Halloween cards.  I thought this would be the perfect time to show off one of the newly release stamp sets from The Stamps of Life called  Pumpkins2Cut.

I paired it with some beautiful Clearsnap orange ink, which made the patterns in the pumpkin come to vibrant life.  Using a variety of color, pattern and texture, allowed me to really have fun with the stamps and ink.
I hope you like it!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Your next stop on this hop will be at Suzanne Austin's Blog, and I know she'll have something wonderful to share with you.

Oh, and be sure to visit each blog on the hop and leave a comment to be entered to win a fabulous prize of Stephanie Barnard's line of Color Box ink pads.  Stephanie Barnard Sparys and Stephanie's new SCREENS!!

Fun With Delft Style Stamps

Good morning!
It's been a CRAZY busy few days at The Missouri State Fair, but we're home and ready to get back in to the swing of things!  I created a couple of cards with some of the new Delft Style Stamps from Katy Sue Designs/Flower Soft.

I had these created before we left for the fair, but I didn't get them posted, and had planned to do that from the campgrounds, since they advertised that they had wireless internet available.  WELL... the best laid plans, right?  I guess they did offer wireless internet, BUT it was so sporadic that I couldn't get a decent connection long enough to make a post.  :-(  Oh WELL!  I'm home and happy to finally be able to share!!

I've got to say that these were fun to play with and color.  I used the crackle background over the entire image to make it look sort of "old worldy".  These images are from the Delft Style Collection and you can view them all HERE.  I also added a sprinkle of Ultra Fine Flower Soft in the sand color for the sandy beach.  Boy, does this stuff go a long way.  I have used that color a lot this summer on different projects, and I still have a nearly full pot of it!  Good stuff right there, I'm tellin' ya!!

For this card, I used the crackle stamp as a background, and I LOVE the look that the corner stamps gave this image.  I created a frame with the corner stamps that are included in the Scenes stamp set.  I kept the embellishments for this one to a minimum.  I just think the scene speaks for itself and it just doesn't need anything to distract from it.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful day and happy stampin'!!!

Pumpkin Fun!

Good Morning!!

I'm so glad you could stop by today, because I've got a fun card to share with you that celebrates my FAVORITE time of year!  If a holiday lands on the calendar in the Fall, then it automatically gains FAVORITE status in my book!  There's just something about the way the air feels and smells, and the sky!  Oh, the sky!!  Have you ever taken a close look at the sky in the Fall?
The grayish/purple cast to the clouds below that gorgeous, vibrant blue sky, with the warm yellow sunshine peeking through to warm that cool breeze.  Oh YEAH!  THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!!
It just doesn't get any better, but I digress.

I think you'll notice a more enthusiastic flair to my Fall creations, which this year begins with this fun card.  Yep!  I REALLY get in to Fall cards!!

This image comes from The Stamps of Life and has just been released.  The Pumpkins2Cut stamp set offers a wonderful selection of patterns to give your Fall creations a fun pop of color and texture.  I'm very happy to share with you that I have recently been asked to be a part of the very talented team of designers at The Stamps of Life, so you'll be seeing plenty of samples from their line of stamps and dies here on my blog.  I think you're really gonna like 'em!!

I used the larger of the pumpkin sizes in this set, and I chose the polka dotted pattern.  I like that it includes the outline of the pumpkin which allows a little extra creativity with the colors that you might choose to use.  I did some sponging on the Spellbinders die cut to add a little more color and interest around the image, and I couldn't resist the urge to punch a LOT of leaves with my Martha Stewart oak leaf punch and glue those on the card.  This one isn't a very mailable option for a card, but when you put this much work into a card, I think a hand delivery is definitely in order.  ;-)

Thanks for stopping by today!  I wish you a very blessed and beautiful day!
HAPPY STAMPIN'!!

High Five!

Happy Saturday!!

Are you doing something special this weekend?  Just getting a little crafty around here, and I wanted to take a minute and share my latest crafty creation with you.

This card was created for the latest designer challenge at Flower Soft.  You see they have these great design mats that are REALLY for use in cake decorating, BUT we've found so many more terrific uses for them that we HAD to share!!  For this card, I used the Snowflake Design Mat and some of the new air dry clay from Stampin' Up!.  WOW!  Talk about a combo!  These two products worked great together.  I simply pinched off some of the clay and smooshed it into the silicone mat, let it dry and popped out a finished snowflake.  I did have to trim the edges and clean up each piece.  After it was completely dry, I brushed the top of the snowflake with some Flower Soft Glue and sprinkled on some Flower Soft Glitter Frosting (Hint of Violet).  It's hard to see that in the photo, but it gives it a super cool looking sparkle.

The image and sentiment are both from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I used the PKSC-19 July 2013 Stamp of the Month set, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored this sweet little penguin with Copic Markers.  Rhinestones, and polka dotted ribbon were my embellishment choices, and the patterned paper was from my scrap bin.  As is usually the case for most of my projects, the card stock is from Stampin' Up!  Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy and Whisper White to be exact.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy weekend to stop by!
Have a glorious rest of the weekend, and HAPPY STAMPIN'!!!

Hiya!!
Thanks for stopping by tonight and welcome to DAY #1 of the sneak peeks
for the August Release at Peachy Keen Stamps!

I created this cute kitty card using the new Stamp of the Month set.
It will be available for sale, along with the rest of the release on Monday, August 5th.  Stop by the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog each evening until then for more great peeks from my fellow DT sisters!  They are so awesome!!  We're having a Release Party on Monday at 6 p.m. over on The Peachy Keen Connection, and I hope you'll be able to join us for that, too!  Chatting, sharing, games, challenges and LOTS of fun await!

Now, on to my card...

The images were colored with Copic markers, and the grass was created with The Grass Border Cottage Cutz Die from The Scrapping Cottage.  The paper is some that I've had in my stash for a long time.  Sorry!  I'm not sure who made it, but it's a whole pad of paper dealing with puppies and kitties.  Love it!!

This new release will go live on The Peachy Keen Stamps website on August 5th at 7 p.m. CDT!  I'm sure there will be a great sale on all the new merchandise, so get your wish list ready!

Thanks for stopping by tonight, and for more great card samples, head over to the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.  :-)

Happy stamping, friends!!
