Now here's what I created using this sketch. As I told the girls, I'm in a home decor state of mind lately, constantly looking for things to alter and make into something I can display around the house or give for a gift. With that being said, I stumbled upon this cute little blackboard at my local craft store and thought I'd put my new wood burning tool to work on the frame. I tried to make the edge of the frame look like the blackboard in the Hillbilly Holler set 5, which is also where the chicken comes from. The kettle, I pulled from the PK-282 St. Patrick's Day stamp set, (both from Peachy Keen Stamps of course) and omitted ink from the gold in the pot, so that I could strategically put Mr. Chicken in there.
The paper is from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker collection, and everything has a healthy sponging of Tim Holtz distress ink. I hope you've had some time to get crafty lately. I've sure been enjoying my new toys, and am off to see what I can find to craft today. Be sure to check out the Peachy Keen Challenge blog for all the wonderful DT submissions, and visit their blogs to leave them some love for their amazing work. In addition, be sure to check out our very talented guest designer this week. Please stop by and welcome Diane Campbell Payne and leave some love on her inspirational Capadia Designs Blog. You'll be happy you did when you see her work!!
