CottageCutz Recipe Card/Oldies But Goodies Blog Hop

Good morning!  I'm getting double duty out of my post today, because I'm combining my CottageCutz project with the Oldies But Goodies Blog hop.  I have a cute little recipe card to share with you, as well as a video.  So without further Ado...

Welcome to the Oldies But Goodies Blog Hop for May!  If you've arrived here from the talented Maria Matter's Blog, they you are on the right track, but if you just happened along, then please go back to her blog and begin from there so you don't miss anything.   Each month, members of the Design Divas Facebook Group join together to bring you a fabulous blog hop, and the theme is "Oldies, But Goodies".  To qualify as an OBG project, we must create something using an item that's been in our stash but have not used for 6 months or more.   For my project, I pulled out my CottageCutz dies from the In The Kitchen release.  I haven't played with these for quite some time, and it was fun to work with them again.  Here is my card using my "Oldie But Goodie" Homemade Tag CottageCutz die from The Scrapping Cottage.  I also used the Napkin & Decorative Teaspoon, and the Strawberry Mini dies from the April 2012 Tea Party release.
(Just click on the picture to enlarge it and read the recipe.)
The paper that I used is from My Mind's Eye Life of the Party Collection.  The strawberries were cut with white card stock and colored with Copic markers, and you can see the video tutorial below as to how I colored those and what colors I used.  The edges of the tag, and napkin was sponged with chocolate chip classic ink from Stampin Up!   I cut the spoons out with metallic silver paper, and shaded the inside of them with a series of cool gray Copic markers ranging in color from C3-C9.  This recipe is so easy, and is it ever YUMMY!  Such an easy and delicious way to make strawberry shortcake!!

Your next stop on this hop will be at Vicki Pantrac's Blog.  I know she's got something amazing to share with you.  There's a complete list of stops for this hop below, in case you get lost along the way.  Have fun and enjoy the hop!  I'm so glad you could join us today!

Have a blessed and beautiful day and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Peachy Keen Challenge #17

Good morning!!!  YAY!!!  Friday is finally here, and that's a good thing for a number of reasons!  Of course the obvious and that is that the weekend is upon us and hopefully it will be filled with good things like graduations,  graduation parties, Mother's Day, and just relaxing and enjoying time with family and friends.  The OTHER good thing about Fridays is the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge!   One of my all time favorite challenges are sketch challenges, and that's what we have for you today.  A FANTASTIC challenge for you to play with, if you're lucky enough to work in some crafty time within the next week.  Here's the card I created using the sketch.

I used the April SOTM stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps for the cupcake and party hat, but the face for this cutie comes from the new PK-114 Hot Diggety Dog stamp set.  Those eyes are so SUH-WEET and I thought the scallop on the icing made a pretty cute and subtle smile for this cutie.  The cupcake wrapper was paper pieced and everything was stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic markers.  The patterned paper is all from my scrap bin, and the embossed layer is an embossing folder from Stampin' Up!.  Here's what the original sketch looks like and details about the how to play along.
THE CHALLENGE
Create a card or layout using the provided sketch!
We'll be awarding "TOP PEACH" to the player who uses their Peachy Keen Stamps this week and our two runner ups will receive a spiffy badge to display on their blog!

Guidelines:
  • Design must be new, created specifically for this challenge
  • Must be a card or layout that follows the sketch provided
  • Link up by 5/16 - 11:59 pm EDT
  • Remember, you don't have to use our stamps to link up, but they are required to earn TOP PEACH!

You can drop by the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog  for some incredible inspiration from my fellow PKS Designers, and that's where you'll link up your project.

THIS WEEK, you'll be playing along for one of our NEWEST sets:

It's SUCH a great set for the summer, think of the ADORABLE invites and host gifts you could make!

***Don't forget: if you enter all four challenges this month, you are AUTOMATICALLY entered to win a $30.00 Gift Certificate at the end of the month! Everyone has a chance to win some goodies from our shop so don't miss your chance!***

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a glorious day and weekend!  Happy Mother's Day to ALL the moms out there, and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Peachy Keen Alumni Blog Hop

Good morning!  Welcome to The Peachy Keen Alumni That's What Friends Are For Blog Hop!  If you arrived here from the super talented Janice Wilson's Blog, then you are on the right track, but if you just happened along, you will want to go back and start from the beginning at The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog so that you won't miss one awesome creation or any of the details about how to win one of the fabulous prizes of $20, $30, and $50 gift certificates to The Peachy Keen Stamps Store!  There will be three of our designer (we don't know which ones) that will give away one of the above gift certificates.  Just leave a comment on each blog on this hop and end with a comment on the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to be eligible to win.

For my card today, I went with our That's What Friends Are For theme.  This sweet little salt and pepper shaker stamp is part of the newly released  We Go  Together stamp set at Peachy Keen Stamps.   It's also pretty perfect for today, because my sweet hubby and I are celebrating our 29th year of wedded bliss!  Gee!  How did that happen and where did almost 30 years go?  I guess it's true that time flies when you're having fun!  Anyway, this card works great for both our blog hop, and my anniversary.  I hope you like it.
The stamp set, as I mentioned is new from Peachy Keen Stamps, as is the beautiful patterned paper, card stock, and button embellishment.  Those are all part of the May Peachy Picks Kit, which I dearly LOVE!!
Here's a closer look at the sparkle I added to the salt and pepper shakers using Martha Stewart glitter glue and glitter.  The picture doesn't nearly do it justice.  The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black, and London Fog ink, and colored with Copic Markers.  The doily is a new die from Stampin' Up!.

Your next stop will end this hop and take you back to The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.  Be sure to leave a comment there letting us know you completed the hop.  Thanks so much for joining us!!  Hope you had fun and enjoyed all the wonderful creations from our Peachy Keen Alumni Designers!  Below is a list of all the stops along this hop, should you happen to get lost along the way.   Wishing you a joyous day and happy stamping!

Time For Tea

Good morning and happy Sunday!  Today I have a card that is inspired by one of my favorite outings.  That would be going to tea, and one of my favorite places to take tea is  at the Victorian Country Inn.  My card is inspired by the rich jewel tone colors that Miss Barbara has exquisitely included in her beautiful decor at the Inn.  Click on the link to see all the lovely details of this beautiful little country piece of heaven!
For this card, I used the CottageCutz Oval Doily and FrameTea Time Border, and  Small Tea Cup, CottageCutz dies.  I found this beautiful K&Co. paper that reminded me of the tea room, and for embellishments, the pearl flourishes and pleated ribbon seemed like the perfect additions.  This tea party release from The Scrapping Cottage is wonderful!  There are so many gorgeous dies to choose from, and the creative possibilities with them are limitless.  I just LOVE them!!!
Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a glorious day!
