Vintage valentine anyone? I finished up a set of these cards last night for Lauri's Vintage Valentine Swap on splitcoaststampers. I was so happy to find Lauri's swap, because I had all 
these vintage valentines that Allen and I found in an old drugstore building that we bought a few years ago. These valentines, some very old Hallmark cards, and card display racks were just a few of the antique finds we uncovered in that wonderful old building. We had grand plans for the old drugstore, but after the previous owner left the leaky roof unrepaired for so many years, it was decided that it couldn't be saved, and it was torn down. We did manage to salvage some "treasures" from inside, and I'm so glad we did. There's so much history involved in places like that, and it's sad to see them go. If we had just gotten to it a few years earlier it might have been saved. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Anywho, I was thrilled to find Lauri's swap, which has allowed me to share some of those old valentines with fellow handmade card lovers! I'm not sure exactly how old these valentines are, but from what I can find on the net, I'm guessing they are at least 50 years old, and possibly older than that. There are no dates printed on them that I can find, but I've seen some similar to these on ebay dated anywhere from the 1930's-early 1960's. I hope you like what I've done with them. You did this so beautifully! The accessories that you used to off set the Valentine fit it perfectly. Anyone who receives this can't help but be thrilled.
Man you tie bows well Lorie!! I love to reuse things too. It's a shame that old buildings have to come down sometimes, but sometimes there is no other choice. We have an old barn in the area that is just slowing falling apart because the owners don't have the money to rebuild it.
OH they are just darling! I love the swap theme. Unfortunately, I doubt mine are really very vintage looking, but I hope they're cute anyways! LOL
OH super cute -- you have such an eye for detail and beauty! I have to agree with Karen, though - mine aren't vintage either! I thought it was a valentine's memories, lol, so mine are wayyy off base! Terrific job!

Oh Lorie this is amazing! The lucky gals who receive these will be thrilled!! I totally adore vintage papers and cards and fabric and am using vintage prints to liven up my (naked) craft room!
