Good morning!  Yesterday began the newest challenge at the Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge Blog, and this week the challenge is from the kitchen.  Anything having to do with food or drink.  I printed out this cute Cocoa's Latte digital stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and colored it up to match this pretty patterned paper from DCWV.  For the sketch, I played along with the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge this week.

Peachy Keen 43 & Midnight Madness Challenge 86

Good morning!!  I woke up this morning to snow, snow, and MORE snow!  Between 6 and 8 inches so far, and soon the wind will blow.  30 mile an hour winds should make for an interesting day.  No worries, though, because I'm safe and warm within the depths of the craft room watching the winter blow by.  Speaking of winter, my Peachy Keen Challenge card today couldn't be more fitting.  I (heart) Winter.  Hmmmmm...  I'd probably be in BIG trouble uttering those words out loud around here today, so this will be our little secret.  Okay?
If you head over to the Peachy Keen Challenge Blog, you'll find that our challenge this time is a sketch, and one that I REALLY enjoyed working with. For this card I used my PKS-317 Ice Skating Penguin Couple, and PK328 Snowman Winter Greeting Card Set for the sentiment.   For once, I chose the paper BEFORE I started coloring.  *GASP*  That's so NOT the way I usually roll, but I'm nuts about this new Crate Paper Snow Day Collection, so you'll probably be seeing a lot of it.  :)  As usual, I colored with my Copics, and there's a layer of Crystal Effects under their feet.  It looks so cool IRL.

It's so exciting to be back in the swing of things and posting regular challenges, and part of our excitement at Peachy Keen is our line up of Guest Designers.  Some of the most talented paper crafters there are will be joining us in 2011, and today our Guest Designer is Theresa Harris (aka The Scrapbooking Queen).  Be sure to visit her blog to check out all the wonderful things she does with Peachy Keen Stamps.  My fellow design team members have some amazing samples to share with you using this week's sketch, so be sure to check out all the fabulousness they've got on tap, too.  You'll find links in my side bar to all of their blogs.  We'd love to see what you're doing with your Peachy Keen Stamps, so please play along with our challenge, because one random winner will receive the PK241 Happy Birthday Kids stamp set, just for joining us.   New stamps have just been released for Valentine's Day, and there's more on their way, PLUS, for the entire month of January you can take 10% off of your purchases at Peachy Keen Stamps.  NOW THAT'S A GREAT DEAL!!!!!

Now, on to the next card.  This is my take on the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #86.  I made this card a full 5x7 size in order to fit the tag, and all the "little extras" that were a part of the fancy sketch this week, but as always, the choice is yours as to whether you go fancy, or clean and simple.  The wonderful Heart Tree  digi image comes from the Priscillastyles Store.  You should definitely drop by there and take a look at all the beautiful vintage style images she has to offer.

Our monthly sponsor at the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge is Lindy's Stamp Gang, and I used their Moon Glow Mist on the background of the tag, the paper roses, and the chipboard heart.  Oh my goodness! This is so gorgeous IRL, but with all the overcast days we've had lately, I've been hard pressed to get any really good photos.  Here's a little closer look at the wonderful shimmer these products give.
If you play along with the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week, you have the chance to win a fabulous prize  package from our weekly sponsor The Doodle Pantry, as well as the amazing prize package from our monthly sponsor, Lindy's Stamp Gang.  We're all anxiously waiting to see what you create with this fabulous sketch, and if you need a little inspiration, check out the challenge blog to see what our talented design team has created for you!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I wish you a blessed day and happy stamping!

Snow Sweet!

Good morning!  It's a cold and windy day here in Missouri, and there's some talk of snow, so I thought I would share this card that was made with the cute little Penguin with Skis stamp from The Scrapping Cottage.  Really, we're just getting in to winter, and skiing is a favorite winter sport of many.  Never tried it myself, but this little guy is rearing to go!!
I got to use some of my new Crate Paper (6x6 stack) from the Snow Day collection for this card.  32 sheets of double sided wonderfulness is what I found when I opened that stack, and I just LOVE it!!  The colors are non traditional and fun, and I can't wait to play with it some more.  The corduroy buttons were a perfect match to the gold in the paper, and I added some handmade icicles for a fun effect.  This little fella was colored with Copic markers, and the white polka dots on his scarf were added with a white Gelly Roll pen.

I'm so glad you could stop by today!  Have a blessed day and happy stamping!

Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge #6

Have you been to the Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge Blog yet?  It's hard to believe that we've already made it to the 6th challenge!  Goodness, time REALLY does fly when you're having fun, and it sure is fun making cards with Cocoa!
For my card today, I took the challenge this week, which is to share a new year's resolution.  I looked through my stamps, and of course I was thinking "healthy", because that's one on everyone's list, right?  Well, I found this cute digi stamp and added the sentiment (omitting the "You") from the So Sweet Cocoa stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I think that's a couple of pretty good resolutions or goals for the new year.  Trying to be healthier and making every day sweeter.  Ahhhh...  The best of intentions!  I did something unheard of for me, and that's using NO embellishments!  OMG!!!  Is this really happening? I thought this beautiful paper that I got from my local scrapbook store (Bo Bunny, I think) was so pretty, I couldn't bear to cover it up, so all I did for a little extra umphf was to add the scrollwork hand stitching with some red and white twine.  Sweet, simple, and really pretty easy peasy!!

If you're a Cocoa fan, and you'd like to play along with the challenges this month, we'd love to see your work.  Just upload your creation using the link provided, and you could be entered for a chance to win your choice of three Cocoa digis from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a blessed day, and happy stamping!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #85

Good morning!  There's lots of exciting stuff going on here today, because today is my first chance to make a post as a member of the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge Design team.  The latest challenge is up, and it's your choice as to whether you want to go fancy, or clean and simple, but either way, when you play along, you get the chance at a fabulous prize.  Our weekly sponsor for this challenge is Craft Brulee, and the sponsor for this month is Lindy's Stamp Gang.  The chance for two wonderful prizes awaits you, and all you have to do is play along.
My card was made with the PK-350, Colby and Jack Cheese stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I followed the MMSC85 and used this beautiful patterned paper from one of  My Mind's Eye winter collections.  Instead of ribbon for the sketch element behind the buttons and for the bow, I decided to use twine from Jillibean Soup.  I just felt that lent more of a rustic touch and went much better with the aged look of the paper.  I really love working with the twine, and there are so many fabulous colors to chose from.  Thankfully, my sweet Secret Santa Susan sent me a HUGE bag of buttons in my Secret Santa package, and I was able to find  so many that went beautifully with this paper.

Please hop on over to the Midnight Madness Challenge Blog and check out all the amazing samples that the design team has created for you.  They are such a talented group of paper crafters, and you can't help but leave there completely inspired.   Thanks so much for making my day by stopping by.   A very sweet commenter asked, and since there's a new look to my blog, I thought maybe I'd better point it out.  If you'd like to receive notification when a new post is made on my blog, you can subscribe by clicking on the  orange "Subscribe" button at the top of the page, right under the header.   I hope your new year is off to a wonderful start, and I wish you a glorious day and of course lots of happy stamping!

Kit Cat Sunday!!!

Good morning!  Happy New Year!!!!!  It's the first Sunday of the month, and that means it's time for another Kit Cat Challenge.  This month was my turn to be the hostess, and as I told the girls, I've got babies on the brain.  Partly, because it's a new year, and with that we instantly think of the Baby New Year, and new beginnings, but mostly, it's because of Baby Max that I've got babies on the brain.  We sure enjoy that little bundle of sweetness, and with that being said, this is my take on our challenge this month.

I sent out the kits last month, and included the Winter Baby in Teacup image from Peachy Keen Stamps, along with brag book/photo albums, glitter, glue pens, assorted pearls, pink and blue organza ribbon, and this gorgeous sparkly, embossed card stock from My Mind's Eye Deena's Penny Lane Collection.  I wanted to give our Kit Cat lovelies total creative freedom on this to create the brag book, scrapbook page, card, or whatever they felt creatively challenged to do.  As you can see, I took mine and made a brag book for Baby Max, of course.  Now all I need to do is get the gazillion pictures I've taken developed and get this book filled up.  When someone asks me if I've got pictures of my grandson, they're not going to have a clue what they're in for!!  LOL!!!  I can't wait to share these!!!!
Here's the latest picture of Max, taken just a few minutes ago.  He's sporting his I Love Grandpa shirt today.  I have to laugh, because I'm always saying  to Cassidy, "Oh, that's a cute outfit.  Where'd that one come from?".  Most of the time her reply, complete with sheepish smile is "You got it for him".  LOL!!!  What can I say, other than he's even more addicting than stamping!!!!!

Now, please head on over to the rest of the Kit Cat's blogs, and check out the wonderful things they've done with their kits.
All have wonderful creations in store for you.  I've already visited a couple of them, and they totally took this challenge to the limit!  NOW, I need to go back for a second drool, and leave them some well deserved love!!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a blessed day and I hope the new year will bring you  many blessings and lots of happy stamping!
