Sweet Stop Challenge

Well, I have to say that I do love a challenge, and this week's Sweet Stop Challenge was just that for me.  I am so used to watercoloring images that when this challenge with a spin came up, I was pretty much lost.  The Sweet Stop Challenge this week is of course a sketch challenge, but with the spin that the focus of the card should be the sentiment!  Hold it...Whoa..., and just wait a minute!!!  I'm terrible at this!!  You'd think it should be so easy, but I can't shake the feeling that I've forgotten something!  Well, this is what I came up with, and I am happy to report that I am pleased with how this turned out.  I love this Melody of Love stamp set, which is available as a digi from Sweet -n Sassy Digi Stamps.  I just HAD to use it for this card.  The fabulous paper is called Vintage Findings from Making Memories, and all I added was some satin ribbon, the buckle, and that fun little flower, which was a tutorial I found on Archiving Angel's Blog by Dawn McVey.  What a wonderful time I had surfing Sonia's blog and soaking up all the inspiration she has to share there.  You REALLY gotta check it out!!

The sentiment is stamped onto my Fancy Tag Nestabilities die cut, and sponged with a little vintage photo distress ink by Tim Holtz.  I did have fun with this challenge, and learned a new technique with the flower, as well as pushed myself to enjoy a simply stamped card.  There's still time for you to play along with this weeks Sweet Stop Challenge, too, so what are YOU waiting for?

Thanks for stopping by, and may God bless and keep you today and always!  Happy stamping!!

Love ya,

You should be please - this is an amazing card! I just love how you managed to spot light the sentiment but still bring so much of "you" into the card. That is what makes it so beautiful.

Wow Lorie, This is gorgeous.
I'm with you on the twist part. I struggled with that too. I NEVER make a card with just a sentiment.
I think we've been stamping TOO LONG!!! We forget how to do simple things.

This is GORGEOUS, Lorie! Those lovely papers really set off the Scripture verse, and that flower you made is the perfect accent.
