Congratulations, Glora! I'll be in touch soon to find out where I need to send your winnings!!
I'd like to thank everyone who left a comment and shared their favorite things about my favorite time of year. I truly enjoyed reading your responses.
The second order of business today is, sharing the projects with you that we made at my first Copic instruction class held at Ben Franklin (my LSS) on Saturday. There were 10 wonderful ladies who signed up to take my class, and we had a very good time!!! There was a lot of information to cover, and they hung in there with me faithfully, right up to the time we were ready to get stamping and coloring with those wonderful Copic markers!!
Our main objective was to complete this card, learning basic shading techniques while coloring these beautiful pumpkins with the Fall Fun Pumpkins stamp (PK-614) set from Peachy Keen Stamps. I have to say that everyone had amazing results with their coloring, especially since it was the first time to use Copics for nearly all of them. What a great group!!!!! Naturally in my haste get to class, I forgot my camera, but I'll have pictures to share the next time!!!
This 6x6 scrapbook page was a great project to advance the masking technique we learned on the card, and take them a step further.
And the final project for those who had time was this large sour cream container, which was designed to double as a gift box/place card for a lovely Thanksgiving tablescape.
I had a ball with these ladies, and I can't wait till the next class to share some more Copic fun, and expand upon what was learned!!!!
So now, on to the next order of business. I'd like to share with you how much I loved the Copic Intermediate Certification class that I attended in Chicago on Friday. It was a whirlwind of a trip, because I had to leave and head back home immediately after the class was over Friday evening in order to be here for the class at Ben Franklin on Saturday. Thankfully, my dear daughter-in-law and my youngest son's girlfriend went along, and DDIL did all of the driving. They enjoyed a beautiful day in the city on Friday, while I was in class.
This class was taught by Maryann Walker, and I can't say enough wonderful things about how she conducted the instruction of this class. She was articulate, extremely knowledgeable, and manged to work fun and humor into the mountain of information that she had to share. This class was attended by all of the Regional Certification Instructors, as it served for training for them as well. What a trip to be in a classroom with so many of the artists whose blogs I follow and have followed for so long. Talk about surreal!!!!! Our evening class session was a make and take, led by Sherri Siemens, and Debbie Olson, and this project is just amazing!! I'm not going to share it, because I'm not sure if they'll be offering the same make and take at the next Intermediate Certification, and I don't want to spoil the surprise for anyone else. Let me say that these ladies did a beautiful job. They were very attentive and gracious leaders, and gave us the perfect project to apply what we had learned in the earlier class session. I'm so happy I was accepted into this class, and getting to spend time with my friend, Kathy J. was icing on the cake! I had a ball!!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and congratulations once again to Glora for her big win!!! Have a beautiful day, and happy stamping!
