Peachy Keen Challenge #39

Good morning, and welcome to another Peachy Keen Challenge!  I hope you're not tired of my Halloween projects yet, because I have a few more to share with you right up to Halloween day.  The challenge for this time is "Wrap It Up", so pull out your magic bags, and start creating projects that involve wrapping.  Remember that you don't have to have or use Peachy Keen Stamps to participate in our challenge, but if you have them, we love to see how you're using them, and what you're creating with them, so please, by all means... Use 'em if you've got 'em!!  :-)

I decided that for this challenge I'd made a gift bag set with a bow and tag.  The bag is actually just a plain white lunch sack, and I stamped the faces on it with PK-693 Monster Mash Faces, then distressed the edges of the sack with the direct to paper technique using my basic black ink pad.  I simply measured the width and depth of the opened bag, and added 3"  so that when I scored  it, I could make fold lines, with 1 1/2 inches folded down for each side of the lid.  I used a Martha Stewart Cracked punch around the page set to punch the edges of the lid before I secured them with tacky tape.  I used a word window punch as a template to cut openings in the top of the lid for the handles that I made using ribbon.   You can click on any of the pictures to get a closer look at what I'm talking about.

The bow was made with patterned paper from my Recollections Halloween stack, and I followed the tutorial for that from Splitcoaststampers, and you can find the instructions HERE.  The adorable little ghosts you see on the tag, bow and lid are some of the newest Peachy Keen/Cottage Cutz die and stamp sets that are availabe right now in the PKS store.  I cut those out with white card stock and colored them with my Copic markers.  If you haven't played with these die and stamp sets yet, you will definitely want to!  They are the best of both worlds!!!!  I did take some of my scraps of paper and cut some thin strips to make curly ques to go along with the bow.
The tag was cut using a template from my Coluzzle set, and I added some more of that distressing with the direct to paper technique.  You do that by simply touching the edge of an ink pad directly onto the paper and swiping.  It's a fun technique with a great result, and I always manage to get incredibly inky fingers when I do this.  :-)  I added some rhinestone swirls to the tag for some fun and interest, and attached it to the bag directly under the bow.
Here's a view of the top of the bag, and the little ghosts that I popped up using dimensionals.  I hope you've enjoyed this project today, and I hope you can find time to join us for our challenge.  There are always great prizes up for grabs if you're one of the lucky winners from the random or judged entries, and be sure to check out the Peachy Keen Design Team blogs for lots of amazing and wonderful creations to get you in the "Wrap It Up" mood!!!  They are so awesome and inspiring, and we have a  very talented and special guest designer joining us this time.  Her name is Lauren Brewer, and I think you're really going to enjoy HER BLOG.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I wish you a glorious day, and of course happy stamping!

Love ya,
