Storms,Storms Please Go Away!!!

Hello and good morning!!   I'm still going with it's a good morning, because I know that it could be so much worse.  We've been through worse, but believe me when I tell you this is bad enough to wake up to. Heavy storms moved through last night, and with them were tremendous winds.  Since midnight it's been storm after storm, and it looks like there's more to come.  Here's what we woke up to:
Not too bad, really, considering.  There's limbs everywhere, and that used to be my clothes line, where you see that bent pole.  The kid's pool's still there.  They'll be happy about that.
There's the rest of that clothes line, along with the lawn chairs and trash tote.
Venture a little further south, and you'll see the uprooted tree that took two sections of the fence with it.  We've got shingles and limbs scattered throughout the yard, and a section of my dad's roof (just replaced this Spring) is gone.  DS left for work at 5 a.m.  only to come home a few minutes later.  It seems there was a tree down in the road, and in the process of trying to move it enough to get by, he found himself on the ground covered with mud.  Dad to the rescue with the truck and a chain!!  We're very fortunate, and give thanks that it wasn't worse.  Our poor little wrens who have nested with us this spring didn't fair so well.  I found both of their houses down this morning, and mama wren is frantically looking for her babies.  :-(    This was just a little wind, and is absolutely nothing compared to what happened in Joplin only a few weeks ago.  Things like this truly do put into perspective just how little control we have in our world.   Looks like the worst is nearly behind us for today, and I'm holding out hope that this will be the last of the bad weather for this year!  Storms, storms, please go away!!!!!

I hope you woke up to blue skies and sunshine today!  Have a blessed day!!!!

Oh Lorie - I'm glad no one was hurt and that the damage isn't worse. Heaven knows that the forces of nature can be so destructive.

Keeping you in my thoughts! Hugs

So sorry Lorie. What a mess! I am glad that no one was injured but it is never fun to pick up, fix and replace what is broken. Take care! I'm thinking of you! Hugs- Glora

Oh, Lorie, I'm with you --- enough of the storms already! I'm glad that you are all OK and that mama wren finds her babies. Since all the storms that came through here when Joplin was hit, and for the days after, we sure haven't had much in the way of rain lately. Very hot and humid, tho'. Somewhere in the middle would be nice -- a couple of days of cool, drenching rain without the drama! Big hugs!

Gotta love our State's weather. We had a wooden porch swing on a stand tip and bust in April. We just got it back from being repaired this weekend and yep, you guessed it, it blew over and broke again yesterday morning. Mother Nature, we've had enough.

So thankful you and your loved ones have stayed safe through all these wild storms. We have had many trees down in our town, covering roads and landing on houses! I pray a blanket of protection over everyone when they hit. I so hope the storms are over too. Hugs

OMG Lorie ... I just read about your wind storm and here I am complaining about the heat we are having in San Diego. That's nothing in comparison. I'm so glad no one in your family was hurt. Sending you positive thoughts and prayers. :-) Donna
