Chill Baby, Chill

Good morning, and Happy Friday!!  How about a little bit of winter fun today?  Yeah, yeah, I know.  I'm sick of the cold snowy, dreary weather, too, but how can this little cutie NOT brighten your day?  It's literally the brightest thing I've seen in about, oh, something like 6 days!  We probably won't know what to do when we do finally see the sun again!!  I even made the matte around the sentiment in the shape of the sun, just because I miss it so!!

This cute little Tubing Snowman is from Peachy Keen Stamps, as is the sentiment, which is from the Chill Baby Chill stamp set.  I used my Copics to color this baby up (I'm learning), and I actually put this one together myself and didn't use a sketch challenge.  The image is pretty large, so that didn't leave me a lot of room for playing with placement.  I do love to color the big images, and this one was a challenge.  Learning to use the various shades of black and gray to get the highlighting to look right was so much different than watercoloring, but I do enjoy a challenge.  I love the deep, rich color values that can be achieved with the Copic markers, and the paper stays smooth and intact.  That's not always the case with watercoloring, even when I use watercolor paper.  I trimmed the edge of the DP with my Martha Stewart punch, added some Martha Stewart chunky glitter.  The DP and ribbon are both from Stampin' Up!, and the snowflake brad is from Karen Foster Designs.

Just a heads up for you, that I'm getting REALLY close to 20,000 hits, so there's gotta be some more blog candy coming very soon!  Thanks for stopping by today, and I wish you a blessed weekend filled with everything you love!  Happy Stamping!

Love ya,

OMGosh are you rockin' the Copics, Lorie! The coloring on this is just perfect, especially the black, which is one of the tricker things to do. Beautiful! This is so cute and I just love the sentiment!

Lorie you are such a pro. You colored this perfectly!! I have been practicing with my copics, but I will never reach your expert level.
I have found that using my black or darker colors, that it gets sticky and streaky. Have you noticed that at all with yours? Your card is adorable!
