Back To School

Good morning!  How's Thursday treatin' ya so far?  I hope the answer to that question is very well.  Today I have a card to share that I made for The Stamping Boutique Back To School Blog Hop.  I was in Chicago at the time with very limited internet access, so I asked Amanda if I could sit this hop out, rather than cause an interruption in the hop in case my card didn't post, and I wasn't in a place where I could check on it.  She was so sweet, and allowed me to bow out gracefully, but I still want to share my card with you, so here ya go...
This was made with the adorable Back to School Audrey image from The Stamping Boutique, and colored with Copic markers.  It's hard to see in the picture, but I added some Crystal Effects to her glasses, which make them look like the real thing.  Background paper for this one was really  tough  for me, because I don't have much back to school type paper in my stash.  I did find this Daisy D paper in primary colors, which worked very well.  I punched the chalk board oval with my SU wide oval punch, and cut the letters with my Cricut.    I added polka dots to Audrey's pinafore and scarf with my white gel pen, and finished off this card with the wide striped grosgrain ribbon from Stampin' Up!.  I love that stuff, and now it comes in so many more colors than it once did!!  I know I'm going to have to have them all!  Be sure to check out all the great back to school images that Tracey has drawn up at The Stamping Boutique.  They are so cute, and the kids will be back to school in the blink of an eye.  Wouldn't they light up to find one of these in their notebook on that first day back?  I know I would!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you've found a little inspiration while you were here, and until the next time... HAPPY STAMPING!!

TSB Sew Special Blog Hop

Hello everyone, and welcome to another fun blog hop for The Stamping Boutique!! Today's theme is sewing, and we have three awesome images to share with you --all available at The Stamping Boutique. The first stop on today's hop is KYM.
I have made my card for today with one of the newly released digis, from The Stamping Boutique, Cynthia's New Wings On Life.  I colored Cynthia with Copic markers, and the DP comes from Bo Bunny, and Stamping Up.  I did a lot of hand sewing on this one to go with the sewing theme of this hop, and added a few rhinestones here and there for a little bling.  The sentiment comes from the Vivienne and Friends stamp set available from Peachy Keen Stamps, and the sketch was altered just a wee bit from the Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today, and your next stop will be with the very talented and creative Jennifer.  Below, there's a complete list of hop stops in order, just in case you get lost along the way.  Happy Hopping!!

A Day At The Beach

Good morning!  Well, it's Friday, and another weekend is almost upon us.  I for one, am thrilled about that!!  This is what I'd like to be doing this weekend.  It won't happen, but a girl can dream, right?  This is the first easel card I've made on my own, and now I understand why these are so popular.  They're surprisingly easy and lots of fun to make.  For this card I used the Baby Boy on the Beach image from The Stamping Boutique.  Of course I colored this with Copics, and I used patterned paper from DCWV that was a gift from my sweet stamping sister, Paola.  With all the shells surrounding this little boy, I kept thinking about pearls, so pearl embellishments it was.  I originally prepared this card for The Sew Many Challenges Blog, but there was a little mix up in the challenge details.  Their challenge is to create a Father's Day card and not use the color blue.  Well, obviously I didn't get that memo, but I created a card, nonetheless.  It would still be fun to play along with the Sew Many Challenges Blog, and that's exactly what I think I'll do.  :)

Have you heard that The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring a brand new challenge?  Yep, they sure are!!  Their new challenge will run an entire month, and you can enter as many times as you want.  All you have to do is upload your creations using The Stamping Boutique images to their challenge blog, to be in the drawing for a chance to win a fabulous prize each time you enter.  Now, I ask you... Does it get any easier than that?  I don't think so!  We want to see what you're doing with TSB images, so I invite you to do some happy stamping and play along today!

Thanks so much for dropping by today.  Have a blessed day, and a beeeeaaaauuutiful weekend!!

Three's A Charm Blog Hop

Good morning, and welcome to the Three's A Charm Blog Hop.  Now why, you might ask, are we calling this a Three's A Charm Hop?  Well, it's because three digital stamp companies have come together to bring you some fabulous and inspirational artwork.  The participating companies are:  Sew Many Cards, The Stamping Boutique, and Sunshine's Stamps

So now, on with the hop!!  If you arrived here from my dear and talented friend Jeanette's Blog, then you are on the right track.  If you just happened along, then you'll surely want to go back and start from the beginning at the Sew Many Challenges Blog so you won't miss any of the fun and fabulous creations.

The card I'm sharing with you today was made with the adorable Audrey enjoying yet another of her many interests, and this time it's horse back riding.   Horse Back Riding Audrey is one of the newest digital stamps available from The Stamping Boutique, and was so much fun to work with.  I colored her with my Copic markers using the stippling technique.  I had some of this wonderful rope stashed away, and it was just calling to me to be used for this card.  The patterned paper is from Creative Imaginatioins, and worked so well with this project.

Your next stop on this hop is at the wonderfully talented Kim's Blog.  I know she's got something inspiring to share with you, so what are you waiting for?  Get hoppin'!!  Should you happen to get lost along the way, head back to the beginning at the Sew Many Challenges Blog, where you'll find a complete hop list in correct order.  Be sure to leave some comment love to your participants along the way, because there's going to be prizes awarded to one lucky commenter, and it could be YOU!!!

Thanks for hopping along with us today!  Have a beautiful day, and a fabulous weekend!

Challenges, Challenges

Good morning!  Well, it seems that I'm back into the swing of challenges, and today I have a couple of goodies to share with you.  First, I have this card made for the Card Patterns Challenge Blog.  This is my take on their Sketch Challenge #63.  I thought this little Rag Doll digital stamp from The Stamping Boutique is so cute, and she reminds me of my niece, so I made this one for her birthday.  I colored the image with Copic markers, and the card stock and DP are all from Stampin' Up!.  The Stamping Boutique is offering a great prize for one lucky winner who plays along with this challenge, so head on over to the Card Patterns Blog , check out all the details, and get your card uploaded for your chance to win.

My second card was made for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.  I really thought this was going to be a tough one, and it was.  I like a good challenge, though, as it keeps me on my toes!  LOL!!  For me, just deciding what elements to use to pull it off was the hard part.  I used this newly released image, Graduating Audrey from The Stamping Boutique.  The patterned paper is from DCWV.  Of course I used my Copics for coloring Miss Audrey, and I finished off with satin bows, ribbon vine, and paper roses.   There's lots of inspiration and a chance to win a prize at The Midnight Madness Challenge Blog, so let's see what YOU can do with this one!!

Thanks so much for sharing a part of your day with me.  I wish you a blessed day filled with everything you love, including happy stamping!!

Love ya,
Lorie

It's A Busy Challenge Friday!!

Good morning, happy Friday, and BRING ON THE WEEKEND!!!!  It's a busy, busy day here at The Thinkin' Spot, and it's a day full of challenges.  First up, I have my project for the Easy Craft Projects Challenge. This really was an easy little basket to make.  You can find a complete tutorial for making it, here .   I used Fairy Cynthia at Easter digi from The Stamping Boutique for this basket, and she was colored with Copics.  I edged the little box with  K&Co. paper from my scrap bin, and some white eyelet paper made with my Martha Stewart lace edge punch.  I colored  half pearls with a pink Copic marker to embellish the handle, crimped  paper shreds for Easter grass, and that's that!  Wouldn't these make cute little place cards for Easter dinner, or a nice little treat for a friend?
My second project today is a card that I made for the Sukkersott Challenge Blog.  Be sure to stop by their blog and check out the fabulous sketch.  If you play along and upload your creation, you could win a prize from the weekly sponsor, who this week, just happens to be Sweet -n Sassy Stamps.  I used the just released Beary Sweet Cocoa digital stamp from Sweet -n Sassy Stamps.  Little Cocoa has become quite the popular fella in many stamping circles, and I have to admit he is one of my favorites!!  I'm always excited to see what he's up to, or going to be hiding behind next.  He's such a cutie!!!  Cocoa was colored with Copic markers, and the Sublime Strawberry DP in the background is a fantastic find from The Scrapbook Store At Your Door.  It's  just perfect for this image.  Embellishments for this card are assorted Prima flowers, 1 red rhinestone,  and stitched grosgrain ribbon from Stampin' Up!.  The scalloped border under cute little Cocoa was punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.
Now on to my final card for today.  This one was created for the Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog, and they've provided a great sketch to play with this week.  Once again, Sweet -n Sassy Stamps is sponsoring this challenge, so play along for a chance to win a great prize!!   You can't go wrong when you've got a chance to win free images!  That's just too good to pass up!!  This card was made with another new digi to be found in the SNSS store.   This Milton Reading digi stamp was just perfect for me to play with using the feather blending technique with my Copic markers.  Oh my!  What fun that is!!   The designer paper is from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush collection, and can be found at The Scrapbook Store At Your Door.  I used pink grosgrain ribbon, embossed Prima flowers, and half pearls colored with Copics for embellishments, and the sentiment was stamped and punched with products from Stampin' Up!.   I entered little Milton here, in the Copic Blogaversary Celebration Challenge for the feather blending technique.  Whew!!  I think I'm about challenged out!!!  LOL!!  Seriously, this is waaaaay too much fun, and I love it!!!
Whew!  That's a lot of info for one post!!  It is my hope that you have been inspired here, and will find time to play along with these wonderful challenges.  As always, I'm so happy you could spend some time with me today!  I wish you a glorious day filled with everything that you love, and of course, lots of happy stamping!  Be sure to check back tomorrow when I'll have a card to share with you for the Sweet Stop Challenge.

An Enchanted Blog Hop

Good morning!  I'm so happy you could stop by today for this Enchanted Blog Hop, sponsored by The Stamping Boutique, in celebration of Tracey's new Enchanted line of digital stamps.  If you arrived here from Tracey's blog, then you're hoppin' along in the right order, if not, then you're going to want to start with Tracey, and hop along from there, for LOTS of inspiration, from  projects made with this beautiful  new Enchanted line.
This card was created with the newly released Swan Song digital stamp.  I can't begin to tell you how wonderful this image was to color!!  Bringing this image to life was amazing, and I can't wait to get more of these beautiful digital stamps to play with!!  I colored this with my Copics, and added a little glitter to the wings and the stars in the sky.  I thought I'd give this card a some added dimension, so I printed two of these images out, and layered them.  You can see that effect much better in the next photo.  The sketch for this card comes from the Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge this week.  In following their sketch, I added the Prima flowers at the bottom of the image.  The sentiment comes from Stampin Up!'s retired set Small Script, and the loopy border was done with one of my favorite Martha Stewart punches.  With a few rhinestones, and a dab of lavender grosgrain ribbon, this card was finished and ready for the hop, soooooo... Let's go to the hop!!  Your next stop will be with the ever so talented Kym Kreates, and I know she'll have something amazing to show you!!  Should you happen to get lost along the way, here's a complete list of participants:

SSC6 At The Stamping Boutique

Good morning!  It's Stef's Sketch Challenge time again at The Stamping Boutique Challenge Blog, and we've got a great sketch to share with you today!
This sketch is  wonderful  for smaller images, or when you want to have the sentiment as the focal point of your card.  I love this Purfect Friends digi image from The Stamping Boutique, because it cleverly combines both the image and the sentiment. so that I had a clean slate for the rest of the card to allow this gorgeous DP from K&Co. to shine.

The image was colored with my Copic markers, and while you can't see it so much in the picture, I popped the kitties up on a dimensional to give an extra layer to this card.  The ribbon and corduroy button are both from Stampin' Up.

Head on over to The Stamping Boutique Challenge Blog to see all the wonderful cards that the amazing design team have to share, then grab that card stock and a great image, and get creating!!!  We'd love for you to leave a comment with a link to your creation.  I for one, can't wait to see what you do with this one!

You're definitely gonna want to check out the sale that's going on now through Valentine's Day on images at The Stamping Boutique.  It's a dandy, so head on over there for the coupon code, and snap up some of your favorite images today!!!  While you're there, be sure to check out what's new in the store.  Pocket Patooties have arrived, and oh, are they ever cute!!!
