Sassy Stampers Strike Again!

Yes they did indeed! The Sassy Stampers met last night for our Feburary stamp club. We had a lot of fun creating these projects, and everyone pretty much is in agreement that we love this new Branch Out set from Stampin' Up! This set is so versatile, and I love that you can use it to make seasonal cards. Naturally many of us are very ready for Spring to be sprung, and that is the inspiration for this card. I used the triple flower punch from SU with some Pink Pirouette textured card stock to punch the flowers, then popped them up with dimensionals. I saw a lot of really cute cards done similarly to this one for Valentine's Day using hearts instead of flowers, and I thought those were great. I also got a chance to showcase that wonderful eyelet border punch from SU with this card, and I'm lovin' that! As I told my fellow stampers, should you choose to case this card, please, please pay attention when you stamp your sentiment, because as you can plainly see in the photo, I did not, and it's pretty crooked. Oh well, they love it when I make mistakes, and I don't have a problem at all admitting that I make lots of them! LOL! A card without ribbon for me is almost unheard of, but I resisted the temptation this time.

Our second stamp club project for the night was this 6x6 recipe page. These are so much fun to make, and I'm really excited about the fact that at the end of our stamping year we will have a complete little cookbook with recipes shared from special stamping friends. That's just pretty awesome in my book. I told the girls that I really have some issues, because the way I'm wired, I'm thinking if I have a chicken recipe, I need a stamp with chickens to use for it, or if I have a recipe using strawberries, I MUST use a strawberry stamp. Well, I decided that I needed to quit stressing about that, get over it, and see what I could come up with or how creative I could get with what I have. This is the result of my first attempt at that. I just love the little Voila chef, and I think he works very well with this chicken enchilada recipe. I'm thinking Mr. Voila will get a lot of use during this stamping year. I chose the DSP (Urban Garden) first, and let the page come together all on its own from there. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and I'm ready to try those enchiladas. They sound YUMMY!!!!!
I'm so happy that you could stop by today. I hope you enjoyed what I've had to share, and I wish you a beautiful day filled with many blessings.
Love ya!
Lorie

Lorie!! That Branching Out card is so cute. What a great idea to use flowers cutouts. And I love how the bird and the birdhouse pop out in color and yet the blossoms of the tree are set more in the background. Great paper choices as well! This is awesome.

AND!! I love that recipe! The chef popping up from the corner is such a great idea and again, your coloring is flawless! Great show today!

Fantabulous projects, Lorie! The card is sooooo sweet - perfect for letting a pal know she's not alone in tough times. And I am sooooo making that enchilada recipe - yummo! Love the chef popping out at the bottom - super cute recipe card. In my dreams, I hope to make a recipe box with cards like this...it's good to have unattainable goals, right? LOL :D
