GRAND OPENING OF THE PEACHY KEEN CHALLENGE BLOG TODAY!!!!

Good morning, stamping friends! I'm so excited about what I have to share with you today, because it's a card made with my first ever Peachy Keen Stamps!! WoooHooo! I'm so thrilled about being a part of this amazing team. I made this card with the Piggy Tubby Time stamp. I tell ya that there is nothing more adorable than little baby pigs, and these are the cutest of the cute. I decided to do this card as a tribute to my DH (Darling Husband...he always asks me what is a DH, and why am I one.;-). Why, you might ask am I dedicating this card to him? Well first and foremost, he is my biggest fan...heck...he's probably my ONLY fan, but at any rate, he is so supportive. I think he checks my blog and the comments more than I do, and he sure gets a kick out of many of them!! Secondly, my DH deals with piggies every day, and many times they are the cute little adorable piggies. The pretty shiny pink ones that are so adorable until they start getting much, much bigger. My dad owns a livestock trucking business, and Allen hauls little pigs from one farm to another, sometimes 1,200-1,500 of them at a time!! I guess you could say that Al has a true appreciation of just how cute a little pig can be, so this one's for you honey!

In deciding what colors I was going to use, it didn't take me long. Of course pink would be involved, becaue pink piggies are my favorite, then I though brown of course, becaue there's usually mud involved where pigs are concerned. No mud on these babies, though! They are clean as a whistle!!! I punched some circles, added some shading and glitter, and layered them around the piggies. I couldn't decide on ribbon, then remembered that I had a piece of lace that I had crocheted quite some time ago, so I pulled that out and it fit the bill perfectly! I added a few more bubbles here and there, and then went in search of a sentiment. When I found my PTI Green Thumb set with the "May the simple things in life be yours" sentiment, I knew that would be perfect for this. I deviated a little bit from the sketch, but tried to incorporate as much as I could into this card. I decided to do a 5x7 card to accomodate the larger image. I LOVE painting the larger images!

Here's a close up of the card, so you can see the dimension and glitter a little better. I'm not very good a close ups, so any advice would be appreciated. GORGEOUS card Miss Lorie!! It really is! Your coloring is outstanding and those bubbles are a brilliant idea! Do you have a macro setting on your camera (a little tulip/flower icon? If you do, use it for close ups. I also stand my cards in a large picture window to get as much shaded natural light as I can. That way I don't have any shadows, yellow light and I don't have to use a flash. Hope these tips help Lori! And congratulations again - the only way is UP girlfriend!!

Wow! Another FABULOUS card! Now that you are the design team queen, what is next? I say you should be published. Your cards are WAY WAY better than those you see in the magazines.
