Sweet -n Sassy Stamps August Blog Hop

Good morning, and welcome to the Sweet -n Sassy Stamps August Blog Hop. If you came here from Korin's blog, then you are on the right track, and this is your final stop for today. If you just happened upon this post, then you will surely want to go to the SNSS blog and start from the beginning with yesterday's post. There are some wonderful creations along the way that you won't want to miss.
For our blog hop this month, we are sharing cards that include scripture. Sweet -n Sassy Stamps has some wonderful and inspiring stamp sets that include scripture, and this card is one that I made with a very special stamp set. I created this card with the Hugs For Janessa stamp set. It was illustrated by Janessa's aunt Korin Sutherland. I couldn't help but fall in love with the adorable images in this set, and be touched by the love and caring that went in to it's creation. By purchasing this stamp set you can help give a family going through a very traumatic time in their life, hope, support, and love. Here is the story of Hugs for Janessa.

Janessa is my niece and she is a special little girl. She was born with Down Syndrome and at 18 months was diagnosed with leukemia. The images in this set were chosen especially for Janessa. She has two favorite stuffed animals, a lamb and a bunny, so I wanted to incorporate those cuddly friends into her set. The sayings are perfect for anyone, but especially children who might be going through a sickness or just a tough time. The bible verse in the set is one that Janessa's family has held dear through this rough journey. Now that Janessa's cancer is in remission (PRAISE THE LORD!), $2 from each set sold will be donated to a family with a child suffering from cancer or another type of disease.

Updated 8/14/09: I have learned of another special girl suffering from an inoperable brain tumor. Her name is Baylee. She is 13 years old and she was given just weeks to live. I would like to donate money from the sale of this set to Baylee's family. Won't you consider helping by purchasing a set for yourself or someone you care about?
Please be sure to check back for the final leg of this three day blog hop tomorrow. You will begin with Deedee's blog, and I know she will have a gorgeous creation ready to share with you. Have a glorious day, my stamping friends. May God bless and keep you today and always!

Love Ya!

Lorie

It's been a busy couple of weeks so last night I started catching up on my favorite blogs. Just as I clicked on yours my internet connection decided to leave the planet. Well, all is well now and I must say it was worth the wait. Your projects are amazing!! I love the muted colors of the bunny and what wonderful support for Janessa.

The Peachy Keen card is just so yummy! Slurp!

Gorgeous creations, Lorie!
