BFFs

Hello and good day to you!  Have you checked out the new stamps at Market Street Stamps yet?  If you haven't then you've just got to!!!  My cards today are made with one of the newly released sets called BFFs.  This set, wihch is the first of the bilingual series is a food themed set which includes sentiments in both English and Spanish.

My first card is made with the beans and rice image.  I stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored with my Copic markers.   I added some baker's twine to the flowered panel, and used Robin's Nest Dew Drops for the corners.
The second card showcases the cute little tamale couple, and was also colored with Copic markers.  Some red grosgrain ribbon and three more little dew drops are all that I used for embellishment on this colorful card.  The patterned paper for both cards is from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety collection, and all card stock is from Stampin' Up!
Market Street Stamps is owned by Angelica and Jorge Suarez, and you will recognize the high quality peach colored photo polymer that their stamps are made of to be the same superior product that we've come to know and love in our Peachy Keen Stamps.   The fresh, fun and fabulous designs that Angelica is bringing to our stamping world offers us wonderful opportunities for creative expression in all of our cards and projects.

I want to thank you so very much for stopping by today.   I wish you a blessed day and lots of happy stamping!

Kit Cat Sunday

Good evening!  I sure hope you've enjoyed a blessed SONday!  Mine has been great, and very quiet.  Today, my grandparents are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary!  Isn't that unbelievable?  70 years living, loving, and working together.  We've enjoyed a nice day, and just finished a delicious dinner.  Now they're tuned in to one of their favorite TV programs, so I took a moment to make my post for the Kit Cat Sunday Challenge.  I apologize for not getting this up sooner.  My DS had use of my computer for a good portion of the day, moving programs from my computer to his, so I'm just now getting a chance to make my post.

The lovely Susan was our hostess this month, and she chose a whimsical theme, using this wonderful Summer Fairy digi, which I hopped over to The Greeting Farm to purchase.  Susan presented us with a little twist for this challenge, and included this 2011 day planner, which I chose to alter with all the amazing paper and embellishements she sent in the kit.  I covered the planner with this gorgeous K&Co. Que Sera Sera paper, and I used these wonderful silk and organza flowers, as well as the beautiful satin and organza ribbon, pearls, every one of the fore mentioned pretties was colored with a RV69 Copic marker to match the designer paper.  I used the silver cord that Susan included for the binding part of the book, and I tied that pretty crystal dangle, on the top, and I used the acrylic tag as a bookmark for my planner.  The HOPE charm was one of many that Susan sent for me to play with.
I LOVE to color large images, and below is a 4x6 version of the same pretty Summer Fairy that I colored, and my intention was to make a card with this one.  I will certainly have the opportunity to do that, because with all the wonderful goodies that Susan sent in this kit, I can make several more cards.  Both images were colored with Copic markers.

Please be sure to visit Kelly, Jeanette, Michelle, and Susan to see what they've done with their wonderful Kit Cat Challenge goodies.  I know you will love what you see when you get there!!  Have a blessed evening, and I wish you lots of happy stamping!

Are You Nuts?

Hello and good day to you!  That's one heck of a question to start out with today, isn't it?  Are you nuts?  Well, I'd have to give an enthusiastic YES as an answer to that question.  I AM indeed nuts about my craft!!!  LOL!!  My card for today was made using a combination of my Cottage Cutz dies and my Peachy Keen Stamps.  I love to mix and match what I can, and when I decided I needed a leafless tree for the background to this scene, I knew just exactly where to find it, and that was in my Haunted Pumpkin House Accessory stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps.  Worked pretty well, huh?  At least I thought so.  The Nutty Squirrel and Basket are both dies from The Scrapping Cottage.  I cut them out with white card stock, assembled the pieces, then colored them with my Copic Markers.  Ooooh, can I tell you about the product I use to glue the pieces together?  I've got the handiest little glue pen ever!!  It's called a Quickie Glue Pen, and it's made by Sakura.  You can find them in the Peachy Keen Stamps store, and they're handier than a button on a shirt!  You can glue something with pinpoint precision with this little baby!  It's awesome, and one of my new favorite products!!!  LOVE IT!!
How can you NOT love the expression on this goofy little guy's face, and I know that we all have had occasion to send a card with this particular sentiment, which was generated on the computer.  The card stock is all from Stampin' Up!, and I used my Martha Stewart grass punch for the bottom border.   There's lots of layers and dimension on this card with the torn hills, and the squirrel, basket and acorns popped up in varying heights with pop dots.

I want to thank you for stopping by and spending a little time here today.  I wish you a beautiful and blessed weekend, and of course, happy stamping!

Love ya!

Peachy Keen Challenge #40

Hello my stamping friends!  I  have a sketch challenge to share with you today that's from the Peachy Keen Challenge #40.   Our Angelica always comes up with the most amazing sketches, and this one is certainly no exception.  For this card, I used the adorable PK-236 Winter Baby In Teacup image from Peachy Keen Stamps.   I colored this image with Copic markers, and added some chunky glitter for bling on the snowflake under the cup and on the baby's hat.  The DP is from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses collection, and the snowflakes are from K&Co..  I intended to get the sewing machine out to do the stitching around the panels, but ran out of time, so I did a little faux stitching with my white gel pen and a marker.
Be sure to visit the Peachy Keen Challenge Blog for some amazing and inspirational samples from our wonderful design team.  Please consider entering a  card or layout into our challenge, because this time the entries will be judged, and a top five chosen, AND the overall winner will receive the Happy Turkey Day stamp set along with a Rich Cocoa Memento ink pad .  I can't wait to see what craftiness you come up with!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you're enjoying a wonderful day, and that it's filled with lots of happy stamping!

We Have A Winner

Hello, and good day to you, my stamping friends!!  As promised, I have a winner from my Great Paper Cutter Caper post.  Thank you all so very much for your entertaining scenarios of what might have befallen my favorite Making Memories paper cutter.  Allen and I were very entertained and enjoyed all the funny and creative responses.  After much deliberation, because there were so many great choices, Allen and I both decided that there had to be a tie for first place.  Our first winner is...

April!!!!!!!!!!!
Who left this cute and condensed version:
The conclusion, of course, of the Great Cutter Caper can be condensed here:
The Copic Certified Cutie (aka Lorie) considers courtesy common-place. The Chippy next to our CCC coveted the cutter and conveniently cut the chipboard with out the COURTESY of asking.
The moral of the story?
Confession is good for the soul.
I forgot to add my condolences b/c surely the cutter will be cremated now....lol

Allen liked this so much, because April called me the Copic Certified Cutie.  (I promised him I'd share that with you) LOL!!!  Certifiable is more like it, but thank you April!!!  Al also liked the "Confession is good for the soul part.  Very well done, April!!
Our next winner is...
Grandmafairymary
Mary's VERY creative story, which managed to include so many of the newest PKS stamp sets is as follows...

Did you that every October 13th a door opens to the world of Halloween creatures? The door only stays open until MIDNIGHT on October 31st. Any creature that does not pass back through the door is stuck here until next October 13th when the door reopens. Well what else you might not have known was while you were listening to Maryann’s fabulous instructions was your class was being watched. Through the window, standing in the bushes was a dark shadowy figure… As the afternoon progressed and you fell into the false sense of security the figure was biding it’s time. Then the perfect opportunity to strike as the classroom emptied the figure snuck in the side door! The culprit began to work quickly… knowing just what supplies to gather after watching all afternoon… an ATG gun, glue dots, ribbon, chipboard, and your MM cutter! The culprit completed its project and was gone before there was any opportunity of their detection.

Unfortunately… the project destroyed your beloved cutter. Now as sad as the loss of your cutter is there are several happy endings to this Caper! You were able to replace your cutter though an inconvenience and an unexpected expense and completion of the culprit’s project.

Oh who was the culprit you wonder… It was none other than Witch LISA JEAN Halloween. She has been stranded here since last October 31st. Her broom cracked after running into a low flying group of TRICK -or- TREAT GHOSTS and crashed into a tree. FRANKLY, I am sure she didn’t mean to destroy your cutter she just wanted to make a splint for her broom and get home to her HAUNTED PUMPKIN HOUSE. You see LISA JEAN missed her husband HERBY and her NIKKITY KNACK CAT so much she was willing to try anything to get home. I know that you will find some consolation in knowing that LISA JEAN is safe back surrounded by her PUMPKIN HOUSE ACESSORIES sharing an EEKER BEAKER of Witches Brew with her neighbor, FUZZY SPIDER. I know she thinks it would be PEACHY KEEN to apologize to you SWEET FOLKS and wish you WARM WITCHY WISHES but she is a little BOO-PED out right now. Well that’s my theory anyway…

I have to say that this one REALLY took some creative thought!  Mary, I have the PK 620 Halloween Pumpkins stamp set for you.  I don't have your contact information, though, so please email me at foreverstampin at gmail dot com and leave me your mailing address so that I can send you your prize.

I can't close without giving Kathy J. an honorable mention for her side splitting rendition of events!  Once again, thank you all so much for playing along!  It was a great way to turn something negative into something fun and positive, and I'm so happy you were willing to help me do that!  Have a blessed day my friends, and of course happy stamping!
Love ya,
